As she blinked, tears rolled down her cheeks. She flung herself on the bed and grabbed Ruth's hand, saying, "Mom, Clara was accusing me, and I lost my temper. I was just momentarily confused. You know me. I was just throwing a fit…"

His mouth opened, closed, opened again. “You’re lying,” he snarled, but his voice cracked. “That little whore would say anything to save his own skin. He’s jealous, unstable—”

Please tell me it’s some stupid frat nickname they got in college and it’s just an inside joke. He doesn’t reply, just turns his head and looks back towards the house, slowly sliding his hands in his pockets. Right, all the useless true crime info i’ve collected over the years really needs to come in handy right now. What was that one book I read? About listening to your fear and it’s never wrong. I mean, the premise is great Mr Clever Author, but in practice, what if you're being led by your three year sex dry spell hmmm? What then?

my mind kept echoing but my body betrayed me while I rubbed faster. The conflict rips me apart from hating him and hating myself for getting wet over his betrayal. A soft gasp escapes while I cover it up with a fake cough as my eyes squeeze shut not to fully release. I pulled my hands away while my cheeks were burning. What the hell am I doing? Turning into a mess because of one night? That's when it hits me and trust me it's not a random spark but a sharp plan waiting to be unlocked. Jim thinks he can fuck around behind my back? Fine. I will make him watch me take what's his, which it's his best friend, his trust and precious control.
