He chuckles, “I know, you’re in the habit of making bad jokes” “Everything looks fine” I say, signing beside his signature before handing the document to him. He nods, “I’ll send this back to my lawyer for safe keeping”. The rest of the car ride is cold and awkward, I was stuck between trying to make conversation and deciding against it. It was obvious he was in no mood to make conversation, or maybe that’s how his usual aura is.

I stand up from the side of the bed as I was sitting a while ago. "Don't just hand me something like this in front of others remember we should be careful about it no one should know about this" I warned him. "I'm sorry about that I didn't think of that but your right we should keep ..."I cut his words by saying "Take a picture of this and I'll do it as well and we'll get rid of this contract after we both signed it." As I said we take a picture of that contract and he tore it apart and he said he's gonna burn it later.

He shut his laptop and grinned at me. "Thank you, Evan. I am glad you like my work." I smiled at him. "If you accept my offer, you will be organising all the parties that will be conducted in my clubs in Manhattan. I'll get you a team that may help you. 75% of the profit from every event will be yours. I have mailed you everything in detail. Read it and when you are ready, we will sign the contract." He explained and I nodded. "I'll have a look and inform you." I told him. We kept aside the work for a while and kept chatting while sipping on our juices.

All rolled into one. "Set up a video conference with their legal team for noon," I ordered. "I want every clause negotiated and locked by the end of the day. It's not just about getting the deal, we have more work to do moving on." Lucas nodded. "Yes, sir." "The boardroom is ready, sir. And the documents for the wine merger are in front of your seat." Jeremy said, following my pace. I think of him as the younger version of me. He's a quick learner and knows how to prioritize his job first.

Leo said as clenched his fist. "There is only one option Leo. If you want your father to believe you are responsible, you have to show him, and the only way is to get married." Diana said looking at her friend. "Diana, the last thing I want is to be tied down by the responsibilities of marriage. I don't like it. " Leo said with a frown on his face. "Hmmm,I'm not telling you to be tied down, what if you and the lady made an agreement? Like a contract that way the both of you gain." Diana said as she looked at Leo.

He heard the gasps of the people around him. "P-please... give me a little more time. I will pay you back, please just give me more time-" the old man begged. "Fuck you! If you're asking me to give you another spare of time, you can easily go to my fucking office and ask me to. But you didn't! That's because you don't have the intention to pay me, to pay your debt!" Ashton replied. "No... please, that's not true-" the old man begged. "Oh really? Then why aren't you attending any meetings in your airline? You've been missing for almost four weeks, to be exact, Tristan?" Ashton asked, glancing at his secretary.

He had me by the throat and there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. I had totally forgotten all about the contract and now my hands are tied. I sank into my seat as I felt the tears form in my eyes. ‘Why the f*ck am I crying?’ I wiped my eyes with the back of my hand and exhaled. ‘This is only for a while. The contract is to last for a year, right? You got this. You can do this, Jade.’ ‘He wants to see you break but don’t let him get to you. All you have to do is be good at your job and avoid him, you’ll be fine.’

I snap, the slam of my words sharper than my look. He doesn’t even blink. Just smirks at me like a cat who’s found the cream and knows I won’t take the saucer away. That smile says he doesn’t believe me for a second. Which — fine. Whatever. Liar, liar, self-sabotaging pants on fire. I barrel on before he can say it out loud. “Moving on. Clause Three …” “… upon termination of this contract, there shall be a two-month grace period before either party may publicly date again.” Strange … but yeah … it’s not as if I have a line of suitors waiting for me to finish this ‘job’.

I take another breath. "Oh, no... I suppose! It's just... unexpected. I mean, it's not every day I leave home for work and receive a proposal like this!" He keeps staring at me firmly, and I remain bewildered. However, I need to know the details of this. "And, how would that work?" I ask, feeling a bit uneasy. "I have a contract that you can take home, of course. You can read it at your leisure, study each clause, and understand exactly how things will work between us. And, of course, if there's something you don't like, we can come to a common understanding."
