I feel whole again as I let a small flame dance over my fingertips. I can’t resist. I run outside and create the largest fireball I’ve ever made and throw it straight into the stream causing steam to rise from the surface, I’m back baby. I put on a well fitting pale blue dress that looks like it is made of ice, the back is covered. Not because of the cold but because I want Scott to think I'm still weak., I don't need to worry about the cold anymore, not now that my flames are back.

It got hotter and stronger. The core of the light began turning a pale blue, showing that it was increasing in heat. Blue flames always are hotter than white and that pale blue was leaving my body and blasting against the darkness. Vandeer's shadows were stripped away and the blue flames devoured her aging body. It blasted through her and into the ground, pulverizing her aging skin and bones until she was nothing. There was nothing left of her. Not even her ashes, they blew away in the air. My jaw snapped shut and the blue flame was gone. Only a scorched part of the ground remained where Vandeer had been standing.
