It’s pathetic, I know, but in my mind, I’ve always been his and to be with someone else just felt wrong. I run my fingers over his newest tattoo. It’s a beautiful tattoo on his forearm of a Quetzal with long vibrant tail feathers. Every trip he goes on that he really enjoys, he gets a tattoo to commemorate it. This latest one was from his trip to Costa Rica where he went bungee jumping. My favorite is the one from our trip. He took me with him to a ski lodge last year and taught me how to snowboard. “And that tattoo, of course.” I start visualizing my body with it, and I feel like it would really look good on my thigh. I could get something symbolic. Its body is curved in a “c” shape, its wings spread overhead. The background is filled with splashes of color: teal, green, and purple. It wasn’t visible unless she was in undergarments alone, which meant it was her little secret. It was an image of three little birds trailing along the curve of her breast, behind the birds was the word ‘Adventure’. She got inked two months ago, to her the tattoo was symbolic; the bird represents freedom and migration, three birds represent happiness and adventure reminded her of everything she and Roman did together.
