On her mind now was to make sure she gets to her college classes on time. Vastria has always dreaded her classes, but she did find her writing courses to be the most amusing and simple to her. Sitting in her second and last class of the day, Advanced Nature/Environmental Writing and Literature, the class was discussing interconnected earth and the professor has just started the population bomb video.

I can almost guess the next line, the next chapter, and the next theory. It isn’t a mastery but an art that has been bestowed upon me with time and endless readings. In the present case, nothing seems to be promising in any of the crap the werewolves have written. Mostly, the same basic ideas over and over again: keep them concise, true, simple, lucid, uncontroversial, and blah blah blah.

She laughed I taught her about dialogue, diving into the nuances of making conversations feel real and engaging. Naturally, I couldn’t stop there I also touched on characters, plot structure, and other essentials of writing. At least here, I was sincere, because writing is my passion, and I could tell Grace genuinely wanted to learn. But, of course, she had to use Dax as her example for everything. Seriously? The writing began, in practice, as a series of notes in the notebook Killian had given me, observations about cases and people and the specific, accumulated understanding that came from years of sitting across tables from people in the worst moments of their professional lives and trying to be useful.
