Oxford Boys

Oxford Boys

I'm surprised Jake isn't pestering me, one single time during class. It's the first time this week that my whole attention is settled on what we are being taught right now. We are talking about the basics of a novel, and we are asked to write a short novel to whichever theme we want. Perhaps based on our own life experience or whatever we want, writing it throughout the whole period until Christmas break. Our works need to be handed in before that time. My thoughts are now already circling on the theme I could use. To be honest, I have no idea. There's so much I could but nothing I want to write about.

Answered a lot of questions I didn't even know I had, and the main one I tracked this down for. Just wish that when I submitted a book for the first time that this was a suggested read, as it would streamline a lot. Glad this exists, just wish I knew sooner.

Puck Me Hard

Puck Me Hard

“Hope you’re all ready to suffer through this class with me for the next four weeks.” They laughed. I liked that. A warm, real laugh, not the kind that came with a side of snark. It loosened something in my chest. “I know we've worked through introduction last week, but we have a new faces here so let's do this again. This course is about literature and sexuality, but let me be clear—this is not going to be a heteronormative history of Freud’s wet dreams. We’re gonna talk about queer writers, queer stories, queer longing—and why a metaphorical peach isn’t always just a peach.”

Puck Around And Fall

Puck Around And Fall

"I just — I've been thinking about performance a lot lately. People playing versions of themselves for an audience. It seemed relevant." Ms. Okafor tilted her head slightly. "Do you write outside of class?" The question landed differently than it should have — too close to something real. "A little," I said, which was technically accurate in the way that calling the Pacific Ocean "a little water" was technically accurate. "What kind?" "Fantasy. Fiction. Nothing serious." She took her glasses off her head, looked at them like she'd just remembered they existed, and set them on the desk. "I'm running a creative writing elective on Thursday afternoons. It's small — six students, informal, no gr

My Vampire Professor

My Vampire Professor

“I am Professor Joseph Evergreen, a fantasy novelist. I’m sure you are eager to get started. Firstly, I’d like to start off by explaining that I only accept the best writers and those who work the hardest to participate in this course.” He scanned the room briefly before continuing. “With that being said, I’m only allowing 15 students in this course, so only about half of you will make it. By the end of today’s class, you’ll have everything you need to construct a 1000-word sample due in two days, which is Wednesday. From there, I will choose 15 of you to be my students.” A knot formed in my stomach. Despite last night’s venture, and knowing that Joseph was the professor, I still really want

At Arm's length

At Arm's length

I said, with my voice booming around the walls of the classroom. "You are all to write a novel, the word count should not be less than thirty. Take note. You have a month and few days to finish it all up, no lazinees and no slacking. Just see it as another type of nanowrimo. So by next month ending, I would be expecting ebooks novels in PDF format, all of it should be sent to my email" I turned around swiftly, to scribble my email on the whiteboard. "I will be awarding the overall best of it all. Good day class." I said, dismissing them with a wave of my hand. They all moved out of the clsss with different expressions on their faces.

Ikechukwu Williams
One of the most refreshing and heartwarming novels I've read. A real page turner, full of wit and humour, with very relatable characters. It successfully makes a captivating yet realistic depiction of young love within a modern Nigerian society.
Illustrious Joy
An inciting read with spurs of savory romance, humour and subtle wit. I so much love the bond between Adesewa and Kenechukwu. The writer's pen keeps brewing scintillating scenes about them that it leaves me with an insatiable urge for more chapters. Big ups to you dearie❤
