He spoke like addressing the reservoir or thinking aloud. “This place showed me all I thought I knew after over a decade of paranormal investigations was wrong.” He shook his head slightly. “I was wrong.” Only now he turned to the camera. “Here, I finally understood there may be no answers to my questions about the afterlife, and at the same time, found a whole lot of new questions about what’s around us right now, as I speak. What our physical eyes are not designed to see, but exists anyway.” The drone showed him turning to the Manor beyond the woods before going back to the camera from the beach. He faced it, right at the brink of a smirk, like daring his audience.

It took us forty minutes to reach La Grande Hall from Courtney’s mansion. He parked the car in a garage reserved for his car. As soon as he got out, I could feel my muscles tighten. I was nervous yet curious about what awaited us inside. The door beside me opened, revealing Courtney, who extended a hand to help me down from my seat. “You ready?” I nodded and smiled. “Yes.”

In the past few days, the number of strange calls had continued to increase. Lindsay had been taking calls during the day, along with the deputies who were on duty. The calls she had taken included another poltergeist, a cattle mutilation, a strange humming noise that seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere simultaneously, and, most recently, a gremlin. There had to be some way to end this chaos. All the strange calls were on top of the regular calls that generally come to the sheriff’s department.
