I ask, shaken. Fallon nods. “I’ve lived for a very long time on earth and hell where I’ve seen many creatures, but none that looked like that. In fact, this is the second time this week that I’ve seen something that I had never seen before.” I bite my lip as I process his words. “How can that be?” Fallon turns and faces me, his expression drawn. “I don’t know, but I’m going to find out because there’s no way that this creature is supernatural.”

"That they were supernatural?" Ford sighed and closed the journal. He took off his glasses and let them dangle once again around his neck as he looked at me. "If such things exist. Either that, or they were part of the so-called Human Hunters. I'm not sure which is worse." I was already prepared to be surprised before I came, but what Ford said still came as a huge shock. I took the journal and looked at it carefully. So this was what Vicky was reading. But it still didn't answer my question: why?

One lowered his hood to reveal pale skin and eyes that glimmered with unnatural light. His voice was smooth, carrying across the room like a poisonous whisper. “Mia Jones,” he said. “By order of the High Court, you are summoned to stand judgment for your defiance. Come willingly, and you may yet live.”

Six months later, on an unremarkable old street in Stepford. Using the reward money I got from the police, I opened a new funeral service shop. The storefront wasn't large, but it was spotless. They’d catch me, or Serena, going natural and it would be the end. “That sounds ominous.” Ford said darkly. “You need to pretend you don’t notice anything. Go check the groups, you’ll understand. Keep your face neutral. Don’t do anything but check the groups and come back here.” Moran whispered urgently. I was grateful he didn’t say anything telling. There were several supernaturals in the bank and at least one male concubus. I could take care of keeping him quiet. Ford walked around the area and looked at each group, when he got to mine, he focused a little more. He recognized my scent as he drew closer, as soon as I could smell him I knew, it was only a matter of time before he would smell

Her breathing becomes even, and her eyelids fall shut. “It will make her sleepy; at least until the full moon passes and the spirits leave her body, she will not feel a thing,” Courtney explains quickly, and I nod. I rise to my feet and head straight for her bed. I place her down gently and watch her fur slowly disappear and her snout sink in. Her human body comes into view shortly after, and I find myself smiling through my tears. My head snaps in Courtney’s direction as she crouches to get the gun and stake.

"Courtney I was not injured. I just depleted my energy. I did use both of my soul's powers. I need to go so that we can stop this once and for all. Stay here. Please, Robbie. Keep her here and keep her safe." I make my way out of the room before I can get stopped by Courtney again. I found all the soldiers outside. It warms my heart to see the supernatural world stand together to take out one common enemy. With a nod of a head, we let our animal side guide us to where we need to be.
