I lose my footing and slip The floor is cold and hard against my bottom, and the heavy tome smacks me right on the head. “Ow, ow, ow!” I hold my skull, wondering if it’s possible to get it fractured with a book I cast a hurt look at the book laying a few paces at my side. It lies quietly and harmlessly, as though it didn’t nearly assassinate me just now.

Immediately he came in and saw the book in my hand. It felt like an earthquake shook the whole room, and the aftermath was still wrecking me. My hands trembled, my legs shook, my head felt heavy. I couldn't take the pressure anymore, so the heavy book slipped from my fingers and landed straight on my foot with a loud thud. “Ow—” I winced in both pain and disbelief. The plummeting sensation crushed his chest and made it impossible to catch his breath. He said, “Once the self-destruct program starts, there’s no way to cancel it. We have to find a good spot to crash-land.” Anna looked at the map system and then said, “We’re surrounded by water. Only the ocean lies below us. A crash-landing is going to be really tough.”
