Credence Penelope Douglas Summary Novels & Stories

"Just give it a shot. You’re good at capturing emotion." I hesitated, then took a deep breath and read the scene. The passage was in a female character’s point of view. A quiet, inward monologue that revealed her feelings for someone she recently fell for. The problem? That person loved someone else. And no matter how much she wanted to confess, she knew she would never be enough. I scoffed under my breath. It was too good. Classic Joaquin. The way he captured longing and restraint? It was hauntingly beautiful. I stared at the cursor blinking on the screen.

Penelope whispered, trying her best to get her to be enthusiastic about their date, she knows that guy is a walking danger but she knows he won't be able to hurt her, not physically and emotionally though. "Let us not forget the part that he is rich and that makes you a rich mafia princess and female assassin, dating an extremely wealthy mafia boss, oh my God, I would kill right a story about you both, maybe I should quit hacking and be a writer instead, I think that would be the best and lighter option if we are to be extremely candid with each other, I won't have anyone on my tail questioning my ass the reason why I am digging up buried information." Penelope's voice dropped an octave lowe

She paused raising a brow at me. I didn't care to give her an answer, I just scowled at her. Her lips widened into a sardonic smile," You know me so well my dear, Penelope." I gave her a knowing look, I had gone past the stage of believing that this woman would ever care about me.

Daniel said softly while bowing , Penelope nodded as she entered the library sighing when the door closed, and proceeded to lay on the couch that was next to the window memories of what happened consumed her mind, she wondered what would have happened if she hadn't been mated to a monster, a mate that would rather humiliate her in front of everyone, one that only cared about her giving him an heir and never truly cared about her. She gulped tears stinging her eyes slowly starting to stream down her cheeks. She quickly wiped them away and took deep breaths. It wasn’t her fault she had not yet been convinced in fact she was glad that she was not carrying the child of such a man. At that moment

“No, the woman kept Lyria and me locked inside an old rickety house before she moved us to the mansion. I only saw her, her men, and the doctor who inspected us, Dr. Xao.” To my surprise, Penelope rises from her seat, stands in front of me, and takes my drink. I have to say I’m impressed by her ability to drink it down without an effort. Her eyes gleam with an untold emotion when she hands the empty glass back to me and takes a seat on the coffee table in front of me. “I saw you as soon as you walked into the auction room, you know? You didn’t look like the other men. I even hoped you’d bid on me.”

Although Dorian didn't kill the lycan,at least the lesson he had thought him today would make him think twice in the future before addressing his mate with such disrespectful words. ×××××××××× Evening had already come and Penelope was still counting her stars on being let off from this place. She was currently crutched up on the largely sized bed by a corner with her legs held up and her head placed against her knee. All the while, thinking of how her mother was doing. The click sound of the door pulled her attention to the man who walked in. His expression was slightly hard when he came in but once he was in,it softened.

Because Adrian even admitted it himself, She currently has a backer that makes him hesitant. Penelope felt excited. She could feel her revenge plan coming to fruition. She was completely unconcerned about the panic and disaster she had caused for everyone else. Especially Alexandra. She had packaged and sent Alexandra’s Grandfather’s head to her. Penelope felt confident and triumphant. Penelope didn’t notice the little changes around her. She didn’t notice the small but big movements Adrian had made. She didn’t notice the people monitoring her. Her confidence blinded her from reality. Her confidence would be her undoing.

“I have competent workers who can hold the fort while I’m gone. You might want to find a new housekeeper though, Nancy doesn’t seem competent. Took her long enough to realize you were passed out.” “Nancy is doing her best.” She forced herself up. “What are you doing here, Noel? You want me to believe you care so much that you came to see me? This early on a work day?” “Do you trust me, Penelope?” “No I don’t.” her answer was quick. He didn’t look surprised by it. In fact, it looked like he expected it. “I don’t blame you. I wouldn’t trust me too.” He leaned in. “But you have to learn to trust me.”

Working late into the night like she always did. “She never trusted easily,” Dad continued. His voice got quieter. “But she respected strength and integrity when she saw it. And she saw those qualities in Penelope, despite their disagreements.” “What?” “Your mother was an excellent judge of character. She might not have agreed with Penelope’s methods, but she respected her capabilities and her dedication to Debbie.” I stared at him. “Dad, Penelope killed her.” “Did she?” “You saw the evidence. The broken railing. The witness testimony.”

“And you believe that qualifies you to work here?” The question wasn’t harsh. It wasn’t even rude. He was speaking calmly, but it didn't land nicely anyway. Penelope’s chest tightened. “I believe…” She paused, steadying her voice. “I believe I have an eye for detail. And I learn quickly.” He watched her, with a brow lifting. He didn't blink nor react and Penelope started wondering if bolting out the door, would actually be preferable right now. Her fingers twisted together in her lap. Say something more, Penny. Say something!
