Crowns Quotes Novels & Stories

Morning light filtered through the curtains of Isabelle’s chambers at Cresthaven Palace, illuminating the small desk where she sat motionless, quill suspended above parchment. A letter to Amelia lay half-written before her, the ink long dried. How did one tell a dear friend that the crown prince had requested assistance in courting her? More importantly, how did one write such a letter with a heart splintered into fragments?

His voice carried the ruthless bite of a Mafia Don,stabbing straight at me. "Elena.Don't tell me you're throwing another fit just because I gave Lila a necklace."

‘Those who belittle others are usually so little themselves. Small people belittle others. Great people make others feel they to can become great.’ Quote by Nick Verd. April barely had time to plaster a small smile on her face, still covering her braces, before they entered the hall. To claps and cheers. In her mind, she had very little to be happy about right now. The way Noah had looked at her made her self-conscious of her overweight body. She didn’t want to be here.

I struggled to find the perfect words to say to him to make him feel better. “Sometimes you just have to have belief in these kinds of things. And I believe that you are going to be a ruby on a crown. The crown could be something of a great thing, but it loses its value without the ruby embedded in it. You are going to be the reason people admire everything around you.” I said making him chuckle. “You always have a way with words.” He said adjusting himself pulling me closer making me lean on his chest. His hand was winded around my neck resting on my shoulder.

The day he dissolved all they ever were and although he was the one who dashed it with his own hands, he seemed to be the person who felt the most pain. Queen Clara stared sorrowfully as he bent down to pick his crown and with an ashen face stated- “And now as I stare at this crown sorrowfully, a fleeting thought crosses my mind— ‘Was it worth it?’. Someone do please tell me because I… can’t seem to tell.”

I turned from Corvin, smiling out toward the watching crowd, lifting a fresh glass from a passing tray. “A toast!” I declared, raising my glass. “To those who bow out of respect, and to those who can’t bow because their pride is heavier than their worth.” The crowd murmured while some people laughed nervously, but they all clinked their glasses with approval. Corvin’s fingers clenched around his glass like he was going to crush it any second now.

“You said your mate.” His face remained perfectly composed, but I noticed the slight tension in his shoulders. “It was a figure of speech.” He scratched the back of his head nervously. “A very specific figure of speech.” I nodded. “Elara.” He shook his head embarrassingly. I laughed as he looked annoyed but beneath the annoyance, I could see something else. The mighty Alpha Edwin was embarrassed. I found that far more amusing than I should have. “So,” I said, “you’re not jealous?”

Matteo and Bianca caught mid-argument, unaware of the camera. Underneath, scrawled in ink: “Every queen needs a crown. Let’s see what she will look like without wearing a crown.”

In my life, Gracie was more like a shadow there, but never really present in my thoughts. But to her, I still existed. Still remembered and still mattered. I smiled at her and leaned closer to look at the drawing. Everyone else was drawn simply, stick arms, basic smiles. But me… I had a crown. A yellow crown sitting on my head. I frowned. “Hey… why am I the only one wearing a crown?” Gracie looked at me. “Because you’re famous,” she said quickly. “Famous people need crowns.” I sighed, almost laughing. “Really?”

“Well, are you going to call him or not?” Puffing out an exasperated breath, I take out my cell phone, dial Azazel’s number, and put it on speaker. Azazel answers right away. “Rowan?” “Hey, Azazel, are you busy?” Azazel jeers. “What can I do you for, mate?” “Have you ever heard of the Golden Crown?” His response is swift. “I haven’t heard that name in a while. Why do you ask?” “Somone mentioned it to me. What exactly is the Golden Crown?” I carefully ask. I don’t want him to become suspicious.
