Knight's Sacred Burden

Knight's Sacred Burden

In their left hands, they carried long, heavy halberds. In their right hands, they held something far worse. Large, ornate brass lanterns. But instead of fire, the lanterns contained a pulsing, cold blue light that seemed to swallow the ambient light around them. The air in the alley instantly grew heavy, the constant, low hum in Kael’s head suddenly turning into a deafening, high-pitched shriek. "Ah!" Kael groaned, clutching his temples. His knees buckled, and he crashed to the stones, his heavy body shaking the coal cart. "My head... Julian, the lanterns... they're draining me."

The Alpha's Slave

The Alpha's Slave

They contained lanterns that could break very easily. Walking back to the room he was waiting with the lanterns, I had a feeling of anticipation and nervousness at the same time. Altid had patiently waited— not like he had a choice and, he looked at me with curiosity and caution painted on his face. "What are these?" He asked, looking at the lanterns I brought out from the box. “These ones are not ordinary lanterns,” I said to him. ‘Wherever you put them everyone within a mile radius who is a shapeshifter not from Ghysem will turn to stone.’

Cruel Fate: Chained To The Alpha

Cruel Fate: Chained To The Alpha

Crystal chandeliers hung above, their light refracting through the myriad of sparkling decorations and creating a mesmerizing dance of light across the room. At the heart of the Hall stood the bonfire, a blazing testament to the sacredness of this day. Its flames leaped and danced with a life of their own, casting a warm, flickering glow that symbolized Selene, the moon goddess. The fire was surrounded by a circle of intricately carved stones, each one etched with runes and symbols that spoke of ancient rites and timeless traditions.

His Forbidden Truth

His Forbidden Truth

"The brass valve. It’s a perfect metaphor for what we’re doing. We’re heating up the old world’s remains and giving them a new temper." "And what happens when the heat fades?" Sophia asked. "When the sun goes down and the metal cools?" "Then we have a tool that works," Anya replied. "And we start the next project." Raven and Leo walked back through the twilight, the annealed valve cooling slowly in a bed of sand within the crucible. They passed the transit hub, where the lights were beginning to glow with the soft, amber resonance Anya had noted. "Do you think it’ll fit?" Leo asked, looking at the sandy container.

The Secretly Rich Man

The Secretly Rich Man

“Hot d*mn! To think that there was another palace down here! In fact, this one looks much larger than the previous one!” exclaimed Ray. “Please be careful, everyone! And don’t do anything stupid!” warned Gerald, hoping that everyone had learned their lesson about randomly touching things. “Copy that! Still, what are those things, Mr. Crawford…? They look so luxurious!” asked Ray as he walked toward one of the platforms to get a closer look. “Those are Treasure Glaze Platforms. They’re specially used to light up candlesticks used for sacrificial rituals. The fires in them can last forever!” explained Old Flint when he saw that Gerald was making no effort to reply.

It's a good book as far as I have read so far. I'm getting discouraged, though. I'm running out of patience and time for these types of stories. "Neverending" stories where some chapters repeat themselves for some reason or other drives me bunkers. Just saying. I prefer shorter stories.

Iridian

Iridian

If anything, what I had seen on the TV seemed dull in comparison to what went on in the Iridescence Pack. My eyes widened and my jaw became slack as I realized why this was called the Carnival Cerulean. Bundles of living flame were suspended in the air, casting their beautiful light on the Carnival below. The flames weren’t normal, flickering with orange and red light. They were a rich shade of blue, cerulean to be exact. Within those flames were different shades and colors, all stemming from the color blue. They crackled and snapped, sending cobalt embers into the air whenever something managed to catch itself in the flames.

Amy
Such a well written book and the story really drags you in, I’ve enjoyed reading this so much and hope a sequel comes out. I really feel this book should be printed, I’d read it over and over again. The book is long but it’s well worth it.
Therese Dahlqvist
The author has a fantastic ability to keep me on the edge of my seat and a great ability to describe the scenery around the characters. I find the characters to be mostly well defined and consistent throughout the book. There are some typos and incorrect grammar, but not enough to disturb me complet

WICKED PROVIDENCE

WICKED PROVIDENCE

"Look at this place! It's perfect. We can't take images of the sacred bones, but there are lantern riddles in the courtyard. We should play!" The group moved to the cultural center, where the museum had set up a "Trial of Wits." Staff dressed in First Age furs offered riddles. The prize was a hand-crafted Rabbit Lantern—a symbol of fertility and luck in the old lore. Avery wanted one desperately; the construction of the lantern used a lost folding technique she wanted to study. "It requires a male-female pair to enter the trial," the staff member announced. Avery grabbed Harper’s hand, eyes pleading.

THE MANOR OF WINTER SECRETS

THE MANOR OF WINTER SECRETS

The ancestral estate had spared no expense preparing for the Lantern Vigil of Eternal Flames that evening—a profound, time-honored mid-Solstice ceremony that stood as a cornerstone of their sacred traditions. An influential assembly of high-born guests drifted through the immense Crystal Courtyard, a sprawling open-air plaza where hundreds of enchanted, weightless lamps drifted languidly overhead. These weren't ordinary fires; the sorcery bound to the glass caused the illumination to shift hues based on the raw sentiment and deep motivations of those walking beneath them. Intense crimson blazed for raw desire, a mellow amber radiated for optimism, and a ghostly, muted sapphire shimmered for

The Alpha Protocol

The Alpha Protocol

The explosion was dampened, but strong enough to pull the door from the fishing. The scene that revealed itself to them seemed to originate directly from a fever room. A huge, dome-shaped cave stretched before them, whose walls with grotesque, bright red runs were smashed. In the middle of the cavern stood Provisional altar of intertwined steel supports and bones. The no more red crystal, but an extractor – a machine that liquid, carmesine red light directly distilled from the crystals and filled into pholes. Around the altar there were dozens of cultists standing in crumbling. Some of

The cursed alpha's dirty secret

The cursed alpha's dirty secret

The afterglow of the Crucible did not fade. It deepened, thickened, and pulsed like a second heartbeat beneath the skin of reality itself. Where once the sanctum had blazed with white-hot frenzy, it now thrummed with a slow, molten rhythm deeper, richer, more possessive. The living crystal walls breathed in time with the gathered throng, veins of aurora light flowing like blood through stone and flesh alike.
