HEIR OF PAIN
Arden cried out again, his voice breaking from the pain.
“The audacity,” Ryder said coldly, “to yell in my face.”
He stabbed again, this time slower, watching Arden’s reaction closely. Arden’s whole body shook, his chest heaving as the pain overwhelmed him. His cries turned into broken whimpers.
“Ryder,” Ryan said from the door, his tone calm but firm. “I think that’s enough for now.”
Ryder turned his head sharply, glaring at him. His jaw clenched, but he didn’t answer. He turned back to Arden, who was trembling uncontrollably, his eyes swollen from tears.
