I shouldn’t have rejected Crystal even though I never liked her, if only I didn’t listen to Alicia maybe now, we wouldn’t be in this mess… But who would have thought that an omega-like crystal would end up with an alpha like my brother? I never saw this coming! And now, Xavier had imprinted his territory on Crystal, claiming her as his mate and would consequently regain the throne. That’s if I didn’t stop him soon enough… Damn it! I have to do something to get Crystal back! At least anything to sabotage his plans from ascending the throne! I curled my hands into a tight fist as blood shot through my veins, triggering my wolf in rage as I continued to stare.

"I'm not making excuses. I'm telling you what my wolf is telling me. And she's screaming that he's ours." Crystal makes a sound like she's been punched. She sits down hard in the chair, head in her hands. "This can't be happening," she mutters. "After everything we've been through. After everything he's taken from us. The Moon Goddess can't be this cruel." We sit in silence. The machines beep steadily. Somewhere down the hall, someone is talking in low, urgent tones. Finally, Crystal looks up. Her eyes are red-rimmed, but her jaw is set with determination.

Crystal glared at me as if I was at fault for Stavros’s lack of interest in her. “Why did you come back? He was fine until you came along?” she gritted out. I glared back at her in disbelief. Was she blaming me for Stavros’s lack of interest in her? “Don’t you dare blame me! This is my pack and territory. I was born a Lucerian and will always remain one. This is my home. Why are you here? Go back to your pack, where you came from.” “Don’t blame others for your fate, Crystal. We will all stand by Hazel against you,” warned Aunt Carla, leaving her work and supporting me.

“Last night I visited Crystal and after using my alpha command on her, she confessed to me that everything she has done was because someone was extorting her.” She was silent for a few seconds, and then said, “blackmailing her, with what? And who?” I contemplated my options when I talked to the queen and there was no option to hide anything from her. She has always seen through me like I was glass. “Crystal made mistakes in her past. One of them was falling in love with the wrong man. There was photographic evidence of that unfortunate relationship. She confessed to me years ago, and I thought I had collected that evidence. However, I found out that this was not the case.”

"You think because you have a new name and a fancy dress, you're untouchable. But I know things, Crystal. Things about your past. Things about the people around you." Crystal's heart pounded. But her voice remained calm. "Then do your worst, Vanessa. I've survived far worse, I've survived foster homes. I've survived a hell of a marriage. I've survived you." She stepped back. "Whatever you throw at me, I'll survive that too." "This isn't over," she whispered. "No," Crystal agreed. "It's not. Because I'm coming for you now." Vanessa stormed toward the exit, her heels clicking like gunshots. Savannah hesitated, glancing at Crystal, then at the crowd, then followed.

I stroked the back of Crystal's head and comforted her softly. Crystal choked, "I, I'm not scared..." I was slightly stunned. "I just don't understand...Alpha...I, I really don't understand. I've never done anything bad. I, I've been a good person since I was a kid. I've never stolen anything or harmed anyone, really...but why would they do this to me?" I looked down at Crystal, most of her body still wrapped in my blazer, her soft hair trembling slightly, looking fragile and helpless.

I want to talk to Crystal once again but I just can't tolerate their feeling inside, it's full of resentment inside and the atmosphere feels like a cemetery. "They are already dead. Those are the souls of the Xilan Tribe. Crystal was their head, died while protecting everyone." I knew it would turn out like that. But still I was shocked to know that I talked to her spirit for a moment of time. And whatever the reason behind it?
