“You should have done your research beforehand. Perhaps you won’t fail stealing from another mafia.” He grunted. “Who are you?” She finally withdrew her gun and squatted down to his level. The confidence of this woman was beyond me. “Allow me to introduce myself. La regina. The queen of the mafia.” His chuckle was taunting yet with desperation. “There is no queen in the mafia.”

Yasmin waved him off and looked away. Rick did as she said when he realized she looked much better despite her weak voice. When he stepped out of the room, someone approached him. "Prince Ross demanded to see Her Majesty." Rick frowned. "The queen says His Highness needs her rest, and no one is to disturb her." In other words, she wanted Ross to stay restrained. "Yes, sir." The guard turned and hurried away. Rick quickly said, "Wait!" After a moment's hesitation, he added, "I'll go."

The Queen was a rumour among them: bigger shadow, smoother gait, moving with the quiet contempt of something that had never had to ask permission. They weren’t scattering anymore. They were forming. Two streets from the Quay, the wind twisted sideways. Flags snapped. The Queen took the roofline of a sandstone building like a stage, rain beading along her spine. She ranged the city—west to campus, south to Surry Hills, north along the bridges—then fixed on the harbour as if the water itself were prey. Jake took a breath behind a chimneystack and inventoried. The man threatened but Queenie could see he was worried regardless. "Okay." Queenie said and grabbed a chair. She sat in front of him and took out her phone. She swiped across it for several seconds before showing him something on it, "She's currently in police custody and she's eagerly waiting for you to come rescue her." "Just because you're the daughter of the Knights doesn't mean you can abuse your power, goddamnit!" He cussed and Queenie withdrew her hand.

“Get the princess and bring her to me.” “No!” The Queen moves to stop them, but the King holds up his hand, and a guard restrains her. The heavy doors close. The Queen's resistance swallows the chamber. My chest heaves. My hands are shaking, but I keep them hidden in my skirts. Keith edges closer, his hand brushing mine again, a steady anchor. Papa sits rigid, unblinking, as though waiting for the next strike. The Queen’s mask is gone. She stands exposed, cornered, desperate.

“I’m your fiancée. It is only natural we—” Oswald abruptly grabbed her wrist, stopping her movements. “Don’t,” he said, voice laced with warning. Queen’s heart pounded. His grip wasn’t painful, but it was firm. She searched his face, looking for a crack in his cold demeanor, some sign that he wanted her, that he was restraining himself. There was nothing. No hunger. No restraint. Just emptiness. Queen swallowed hard. “Are you…” she hesitated, then forced the question out, “…gay?”

When Queen stopped hearing her footsteps, she turned and stared at her in surprise. Q shook her head, "No, I don't think I can help you anymore." She wanted to leave her behind, but Ashton's girlfriend begged, "Please, please, I'm begging you, don't leave me here, please. I don't want to die." Queen sighed in frustration and walked back. She stared at the trap and shook her head. She knew that trying to save the lady was going to cost them both their lives because even if she got free, she would not be able to run.

She pursed her lips and finally dared to speak. “I…” Dev hurriedly cut her off as she spoke in one breath. “My Queen, this servant only wanted to do her duty, I won’t dare to pry into your Majesties private matters. Please... rest assured…” The room then fell into a complete silence as the two people didn’t know what to say.

The sight of the young queen causes Master Chang’s heart to plummet into his stomach, and he looks as if he were about to have a stroke. The drink cleared from his eyes, and he quickly became alert. “My Queen, please forgive me,” he wails, and goes to fall on his knees, but is unable due to the hands of the guards holding him hostage.
