For the first time since his awakening, the Father of Dragons looked solemn. The white dragon opened her eyes again. “Then listen carefully, children.” She lowered herself onto the earth, her great wings folding against her body. “The Dragon King’s Curse is not truly a curse.” Verath frowned. “What does that mean?” “It means that the world forgot the truth.” She looked toward the heavens. “Long ago, before kingdoms existed and before humans gave names to legends, the first Dragon King was born.” Golden light flickered around Verath. “He carried the First Flame.”

She howled, picking me up from the bench by my sore arm. “I don’t really have a choice here..” I shot back, trying to keep my tone very low. “You think you can change him? I have been here longer than anyone else and I will tell you the truth. You can’t stay here with that man!” I swallowed the lump in my throat and slowly pulled my hand away from hers, “why not?” I asked and she scoffed. “Jordan is cursed! There’s a beast living within him and he won’t tell you this because he wants to trap you here and drain the life out of you until you have absolutely nothing to live for!”

My voice cracked on the words because I was certain that he did love me. Confusion marred her perfect features. “Is he sick?” Because truly, that would be the only other problem. “He's cursed.” I blurted out. “Cursed?” She sounded disbelieving. “Yes, cursed.” I spent the next few minutes explaining Brian's curse, his age, the death of his prior mates, and the future event of my possible death.

Professor Lorian was pacing at the front of the room, chalk in hand, excitement practically glowing off him. “Today,” he began, “we discuss the legacy of the lost dragons—those whose riders perished, leaving their bond unfulfilled.” My focus sharpened instantly. Lost dragons. Vermithor. I leaned forward as the professor continued, his voice smooth and deep. “Some of these dragons have never been seen again. They retreat to the mountains or the sea, mourning their riders for decades, sometimes centuries. Their return is rare… almost unheard of.” He drew a symbol on the board.

It always happens whenever I'm scared. "Calm down, Cara, lest you reveal your powers to him," Hana whispers angrily. "If that happens we can kiss this place goodbye because we'll be thrown out as bad bloods." Bad bloods. Otherwise known as the Ruined, or the Cursed. The spoilt apples.

The air cracked open like thunder. The battlefield had gone eerily still, every sound swallowed by the unnatural quiet that followed the explosion. Smoke curled upward from the scorched earth, and through the haze, Elara could feel it—the pulse of something ancient and wrong spreading through the world. The curse had awakened.

Despite the scary fight going on infront of me, my mind managed to be swamped with many other things, different smells began to hit my nose and the thoughts bothering me were quite unclear. He managed to throw Brenda off balance, sending her sprawling across the ground. He pounced on her, his powerful jaws snapping dangerously close to her throat. Brenda growled and twisted, she twisted free and lashed out, catching him off guard. She took advantage of the momentary lapse, darting away from him and towards the edge of the cliff. She paused, her eyes locking onto mine, filled with a mix of hatred and something else—fear, perhaps? "This isn't over," she growled, her voice rough and menacing, s

Then the doctor ran in as we stepped back and Xavier growled as he was male, unmated and unmarked as far as we could tell. "I came as quickly as I could, alpha, what's going on?" he asks, looking at the unconscious girl in front of me. A gasp of fear and shock escapes him and he backs away. "You have to kick her out!! I cannot treat her! She's the Cursed Rogue!! She matches the description perfectly! Alpha, she cannot-" I snapped. "SILENCE!" Xavier roared. It was rare for our wolves to actually speak on their own like that without their human counterpart, but in this instance, I was right along with him. The doctor instantly closed his mouth and bowed his head in submission.

Infinite yet indefinable, it sought to bring some order to the chaos of its being. For reasons no mortal can comprehend, utilizing the substance and energy of the cosmos itself, life was brought into the universe in the form of Dragons. Formed from the essence of the stars, and the primordial matter and energy that is at the heart of all life. Giant beings, there were only two in this beginning of time. As the essence of existence has two components, opposite yet complementary to one another, so were the Dragons made male and female, in order to maintain the balance that holds the fabric of reality together. Equal and opposite, yet incomplete without the other.

“You are so beautiful, dark dragon,” Madchen reached her arms around his neck, never wavering her gaze. “As are you, Madchen, and I love you,” Drago crashed his lips onto hers, searing her mouth with his passion.Black wings erupted from his back, engulfing Madchen in a cocoon of protection. He didn’t care that he was standing stark naked in front of his gathering family, all he cared about was that Madchen accepted him for what he was, a dragon who had found his mate.
