The two males are acting like scared mice all of a sudden, and it puts my radar up. "We have never been allowed inside this building. The kings rarely share their private spaces. Right now, the only reason there are wolves in their parent's old home is because of overflow. There were many grieving mates, and it couldn't be helped. But this home is even more sacred to the kings. It was built by their maternal grandfather and moved onto pack lands when their parents mated," Luis answers looking around the cozy living room.

Warren had spent quite a few hours in the safe house interrogation room, alone and sweating, but after almost three days of questions and being leaned on, King was totally convinced that the kid knew nothing. I felt all squishy inside. The Guardian's home was the inside of the nearest humongous tree. It had arched, four-pane windows and an arched door. I wondered how we would get through the door, but it grew taller and opened as we approached. There was a long white wooden table laden with delicious-smelling foods. The guardians were all standing around it and took their seats as Fallon and I sat. It was surprisingly elegant inside—a mixture of rustic and elegance. A high ceiling with exposed beams and a sparkling chandelier hung over the table. Bunkbeds were carved into the inner walls of the tree, and there were beautiful curly Q designs carved along the walls everywhere.

I would be mortified, and I probably should be, but there is something amusing about Marek confident tone that makes me want to play back. "I heard that too, although the looks part is debateable," I tell the girl, nudging Marek in the side. The girl looks thoughtful, believing it, considering how gorgeous she thinks the King is. The run-down treehouse to one's eye would have made you not spare a glance, but everyone knew that in this area, it was a nature's palace of its own.

Their feathers a mixture of green and yellow. From between them, a colorful owl slowly stretched its body. Its originally wide body stretched up, it looked less puffy and more elegant. A coat of brilliant and colorful feathers with a pure yellow beak and a body slightly larger than the parrots. It was a strangely colored owl and though interesting, not many paid attention to the owl since it would fly and find various spots to rest. Soon, it reached the garden of the Commander's mansion and perched atop a black-cloaked individual.

No place like home. Yuk! The same garish canvas of Henri and Saskia welcomed me as I enter the alpha house. It was now joined with a smaller version of just Saskia and Skylar, lurid and cheap looking, it really suited them. Knowing Kath would be busy somewhere behind the scenes for breakfast, I was alone in the house. I run up the stairs towards my bedroom, eager to not spend any more time in here than I have to. I sensed a new scent to the house, but mixed in with others, I couldn’t place it and with people no doubt coming and going for the King for the past few days, it wasn’t surprising the house had lost its signature scent.
