Ironwoods. The house was much like the field. Weathered timbers stripped of paint by years of Iowan winds and winters. It sat at the end of a muddy gravel road that curled up and behind another ridge. A half-collapsed machine shed rested between the house and the woods, an antique tractor bearing most of the weight of one side of the roof. A slightly more stable barn a ways behind. Totally devoid of any signs of life save for the new plywood sheeting that had been screwed in place over the windows. I was about to check the barn when the front door opened. A tall and lean figure filled the frame. White skin, white hair, and cold blue eyes that were fixed on mine.

Bonds at War: The Untouched is Mine

Bonds at War: The Untouched is Mine

We had to walk a few meters up the mountains after the bus dropped us of, and when we arrived, I blinked at the sight before me. It was a humble home, tucked quietly at the edge of the woods. A single-story house, small enough to belong only to two people, maybe three at most. The walls were weather-worn, the windows clouded, and the roof looked like it had stories to tell. Still, there was something peaceful about it. A place that wasn’t too far from civilization, but far enough that it felt private. “This is it,” Owen said, pushing open the wooden gate. He carried my belongings, setting them down by the door. Dust clung to the old steps, and cobwebs hung from the corners of the window fram

Unique story line, well written and very intriguing. Far better than a lot of other stories on here. I love a strong heroine, I love her even more considering she has managed to become a person who note only can stand up for herself and others but also isn’t afraid to accept help.

Does anyone know if this story has a reverse harem? I’m not into that and it doesn’t have the tag in the description but it’s so many guys pinning for her attention that I would y be surprised if it goes that route later. I’m assuming the story isn’t far along enough for anyone to know tho

I took one step hesitantly while my eyes scanned the scene in front of me. The narrow yard of the house was covered with thick grass sticking out here and there. An extinguished torch post stood right in the middle of the courtyard. The pillars are supported by six bamboos arranged in such a way that they resemble long spider legs. A bird with blackish gray feathers perched on one of the bamboo legs. The owl stared intently at the house in front of it with round eyes, as if the house was transparent. The bird had a low coo, accompanied by other sounds around the forest. Being alone in the forest makes me a coward. I am scared.

SATOU, D.
The story was very detailed. It was good. I like how the author made it. It was like a professional estimated novel. Good for the readers who can understand better. Notw: I skipped the news and more. I scanned it. 10 for the scene. 8 for the dialogue. Over all almost 10.

The storyline is quite interesting, although we don't that need the news part so much. The dialogue and the scene is balanced, so far. I mean, it's like 50/50 if I may say. Overall, good. Can't wait for another chapter and cliffhanger 🙈

Wolfe Ranch

Owen said with a big smile. We turned and walked further down the paved road. We didn’t go far before Owen turned us to the right and we walked up to a large house that looked similar to Easton’s. The porch was massive and had several chairs and tables to sit at and enjoy the outside view. I wanted to sit and enjoy the view but I would wait until later since I knew I would have the opportunity to in the coming days. There was a good possibility that we would drink coffee out on the porch in the morning, or even have a meal out here.

Lonely Dove

Lonely Dove

He had been offered a place in the loft, but it was piled so high with children that he hardly trusted himself in it. Anyway, he preferred the out-of-doors, though the out-of-doors at the Raineys’ was more noisy than he was used to. The pigs grunted all night, looking for lizards or something to eat. Then there was a barn owl that wouldn’t stop calling, so he had a time getting to sleep. The next morning he got a promise from Maude that her two oldest boys would get themselves to Lonesome Dove by the

Then he laughed and said something about foreigners and strange folks. We pulled into a street that was away from the so called trafic and skyscrapers. Well not really away, but at least here the houses weren't as tall. But they were long. The car finally came to a halt in front of a big house attached to another house and another house and another house. "There you go, 2445 owls street Los Angeles." He began leaning back in his seat. We all stared at the building. "Well? Aren't you coming out?" He asked whipping his head round to face out.

MAD END'S DECEPTION

MAD END'S DECEPTION

Ever since she’d set up a dog house on the porch, he’d been spending more and more time out there. After switching everything off and locking up, she stepped outside the house, the porch light humming above her. Then came a sharp, echoing hoot from the darkness. Startled, she turned, seeing the white owl perched on the railing like it had been waiting for her. Its feathers looked almost silver in the light, and its big round eyes blinked once, then twice, locking onto her. Arah’s lips curved into a smile. “Hey, it’s you. It’s been a while, huh?”

Before walking through the door I stop on the step and look up at the sign above the doorway. An old slab of wood hanging on iron chains. Two owls painted in bright green and brown sit side by side on a branch, their eyes huge and looped with crazy Celtic patterns. Swirling purple letters spell out "The Night Owl" against a dark blue backdrop, sprinkled with small golden stars. Even smaller letters in gold below say "Open 12 to 12". And below that, my gran's initials, so tiny you wouldn't notice them unless you looked really close. The bell tinkles as I go through the door. Jade smiles at me from behind the counter.
