Charlotte: Fated to the White Dragon
I murmur, leaning forward so my voice is a rumble between us, “let me tell you a story…”
When she doesn't interrupt, I continue. "A bear had a cub, and it was very hungry. So one day he went hunting. He saw a human baby, abandoned, and decided to make it his cub's meal. He picked up the baby with his fangs digging into its skin and killing it. When he arrived at the place his cub was, there was blood." Charlotte's face creases but she remains silent, listening.
"A hunter had mistaken the cub for a rabbit, and shot it. He stared up at the bear shocked to see a baby in its mouth. And the bear shocked to see his cub dead."
