His Deplorable Mate
“PL-please mama. I be a go-good girl. I n-no be a ba-bad girl. D-daddy, I be a go-good girl. Ava no wa-want to be here. M-my tu-tummy hurts mama,”
Ava cried herself to sleep. Repeating the same lines again and again.
The next day, Ava went to the kitchen and saw the pie on the kitchen counter. Bob hasn't eaten it. Ants were running around on the pie. Ava's mouth watered as she looked at the blue pie.
She carefully drags the stool and stood on it. She blew air on the pie, making the ants run away here and there. Ava giggled at them.
“Mr. Ant, Ava hungry. I took one, okay,”? Ava smiled as she took permission from the ants. Taking a small piece, Ava moaned at the taste. She was famished.
