“Let’s hear what he has to say.” The man stepped out from the shadows — tall, thin, with tired eyes that looked like they’d seen too much. His coat was worn at the edges, his face pale under the lamplight. “My name’s Carter Evans,” he said quietly, glancing around before taking a cautious step closer. “And before you ask — yes, I used to work for Julian Vance.” Leo’s brows lifted. “Used to?” Carter gave a short, humorless laugh. “Yeah. ‘Used to.’ Until he destroyed my life.”

Pursing my lips in thought I look out and find a black car with a driver standing with a sign that reads "Davis" "There," I point. Debs starts strutting that way as soon as she spots him. "Morning Mrs. Davis. I'm Ervin, and will be driving you the Underground. Can I help you with your things?" The man asks, his voice rough and deep. He seems older, but looks tough as nails. His eyes are sharp, his face as toned as his body. I'd think he was young if it weren't for the gray in his beard and eyebrows. "Sure," I hand him my bag. He gives a curt nod before grabbing mine and Debs things and heading to the back of the car.

Evelyn’s POV The hum of the diner’s fridge was the only sound between them. Evelyn sat at one of the empty booths, phone in hand, staring at the message for the hundredth time. The glowing screen burned her eyes, but she couldn’t stop looking. Welcome, Miss Carter. Your first appointment has been scheduled. Please prepare to meet your intended parent. Client: Damian Blackwood. The name looked unreal, like something cut from a newspaper headline. Carmen slid into the booth across from her, carrying two mugs of coffee. “You’ve been staring at that thing for an hour. What’s up?”

Levi yelled loudly as he shivered with the fear seeing at Evangeline. "Are you scared, Levi? I am the angel of death for you." She said in a voice that did not sound like Evangeline. Levi started crawling backwards like a coward worm. While Evangeline was stalking him as if she became a predator. In a blink of an eye, she grabbed him by his throat and pinned him with the nearest tree. "But you can call me Dabria. I will tear you into shreds and will make you count each and every shreds of your body." She added and started laughing hysterically. It sent chills to both Levi's and Simon's abdomens as they heard the darkest laugh.

I whined, “I will never do something like this. Believe me, not this, not me. I would never kill anyone, definitely not a little girl.” Evans cleared his throat and said, “You have gone rabid and you need to be fixed,” he pressed his lips together and looked away, then wiped his nose and turned back to me. “I thought maybe you haven’t wolfed out for too long, but now I see you have been a wolf for longer than you should. Why, Davina?”

I glanced at Williams, who remained silent, as if in pain. "It's nothing, Dean. A friend of mine came to visit, and I was happy about it all." Dean looked at Henry, who smiled and extended his hand for a shake. "Hi, my name is Henry, and I'm from the Lycan pack. I used to be a beta to Williams here, but I guess my rights have been taken away." I observed how Dean shook hands with Henry, then turned his attention back to me. "You need to rest, Sierra. You know I don't like seeing you this way."
