I felt my own lungs finally remember how to work. Daisy straightened, wiping tears from the corners of her eyes. “I was kidding. I was *kidding*. He didn't look at Killian for long, though. His small, dark eyes immediately slid over to me, traveling slowly down my body and back up to my face. His smile widened, becoming even more unpleasant.
