The air was still vibrating with the wild, desperate heat of what we had just done on the edge of the desk, but our proud walls were already slamming back up into place.
Daisy pulled her dark sweater back over her head, smoothing down her messy hair with a sharp, angry tug.
She cleared her throat, her voice completely level and cold as she broke the suffocating quiet.
"We are done venting," she said, her emerald eyes flashing with a determination as she looked toward the door. "Let's go ruin him."
"Good," I muttered, strapping my holster back onto my side and grabbing my jacket from the chair. "Keep your head in the game. I don't want any distractions when we get to the docks."
