His eyes were on me—only me—silver blade spinning idly in his hand as if we were about to dance.
The crowd sensed it too. The roar shifted, less frenzy now, more… hunger. Thousands of bodies leaning forward in the stands, waiting for the collision.
My shadows writhed, furious, eager. Dante smiled.
And we moved.
The first clash split the air like thunder. My shadows hammered down in a storm, spears and blades crashing toward him from every angle. He met them all, silver slicing arcs that seemed too clean, too precise to be human. Sparks lit the dust between us, a storm inside a storm.
