Without looking at me, he said quietly, “There’s something I’ve never shown anyone. Not even Leo.” I frowned. “What are you talking about?” He glanced over his shoulder, the corners of his lips twitching slightly. “Trust me, Piccola.” He reached for one of the books—a black one with no title—and pulled it. A soft click echoed through the room.

Emberlynn said, reaching out to touch it. She froze midway, gazing at Damien, who nodded his approval. "You can," He said. Emberlynn touched the book, her eyes snapping shut involuntarily as she felt the rough texture of the book. "I thought you might appreciate it. You have a curious mind, Ember," Damien whispered, and Emberlynn's eyes opened, smiling at him. He was thoughtful and not as selfish as she believed. "You didn't ask me what the rarest text is called," Damien said as he flipped the pages.

Damon's pov Sunday 4th July 2021 ***************************** I don't enjoy going to see Orion but it's a necessary evil. If I stop going Marcus will kick me out of the club and then I'll have nothing that I enjoy. I enjoy hurting people. That's really the only thing that makes me happy. I'm diagnosed with a severe form of Antisocial Personality Disorder. Which means I'm a psychopath. I lack empathy and remorse which means I have no issue in manipulating people for my own gain. All Orion's words of course, I don't see how that's a bad thing, I think more people in the world should be selfish to get on top.

“I was the messenger. The one who gave you the Black Pearl long ago.” I tensed. “Long time no see,” he added with a smirk. “What are you doing here?” I asked, trying to steady my voice. He didn’t answer right away. Instead, he stepped closer, his expression shifting into something colder. “What are you doing, Cullen?” he said sharply. “You altered the Death Book… and now you're bringing a human into your house?” I clenched my jaw and looked away. “I asked you a question,” I said again, firmer this time.

Emma later went upstairs to her brother's room. James' room was filled with things that he had insisted on carrying from Mina's place. He adores his things and wishes to take them with him wherever he goes. Emma faked a gasp seeing the room. On the bed, the blankets were covered by plushies and coloring books while color packs were laid on the nightstand unevenly. Mina had spoiled him a lot. Emma began to organize her brother's belongings. She placed the plushies on the bed, and neatly stacked the coloring books and packs on the nightstand. When she finished, she stood back and felt a warm wave of nostalgia wash over her.
