Chapter 3 Daniel’s POV “You don’t have to lie to me, kid. I can prove you’re curious…” Johnson’s voice came out low and thick as he leaned in even closer on the couch, his breath hot against my ear. Danny added, prompting a loud snort from the subject of the conversation. “Hey, I can still hear your whispers,” Jaxon growled, but he never looked at his friends gathered around him because he was too busy flipping through the book’s pages in his hand. Danny simply shrugged and returned to the game after hearing this. Meanwhile, Jaxon’s grip on the book he was reading tightened, causing the cover to wrinkle. Jaxon let go immediately after realizing what he had just done. He took a deep breath and massaged his temples, suddenly feeling tired. Jaxon walked out of the room without saying anything.

“But if you can’t keep your hands to yourself, I might lose whatever’s left of my sanity and blame it on you, Sir Danny.” He gave me a coy grin as he flopped dramatically onto the couch. His soft chin-length blond bob bounced like he was in a shampoo commercial, perfectly framing that disgustingly ethereal face. “What are you even doing here? Ran out of girls to flirt with, so now you’re here to annoy me?” Of all the jerks in this blessed family, Daniel’s the only one I can actually banter with. Just like Johnny—but less flirty and more… self-aware. Johnny’s brain floats in space and only returns to Earth when he’s high on sex.

Chase warns him. “The weird little thing I couldn’t figure out has shown its purpose. It’s positioned perfectly at my clit, and it’s sucking while Hudelone rails into me. Heat burns through my bones, and I’m silenced by the pleasure that builds,” Jax reads aloud with a grin. “Okay, stop reading the fucking book!” Chase laughs, shaking his head as he walks off. “I’m reading them all. Every single one of her books,” Jax smirks, clearly enjoying himself.

He stretched his arms and the store manager came back with a box and they exited the store. “I’ll see you tomorrow at church, okay?” Danny said, and they parted their ways. While Danny left the place in his car, Christian walked a few miles and entered a café and, while waiting for the potential client, his eyes fell on the bookshelf. “The Antagonist Of My Life by Scarlett,” Christian read and abruptly stood up to take it from the shelf.

Chapter. 48. ****** Pulling back, Louis's arms slipped around him, and his chin rested on Danny's head. "Lou!" Danny squeaked when he pushed him onto the ground and growled. With large hands, he ripped Danny's shirt from his torso, and the piece of material fluttered uselessly to the ground. "No more, Danny..." he hissed. "You keep staring and thinking all those thoughts. Did you forget I could read and feel every breath you take? One more, and I might just fuck you right here for all to see."

Johnson crept down the hallway like he had nothing better to do—which, honestly, he didn’t. He stopped outside Damon’s room and leaned toward the window, squinting inside. “Heyyy.” Damon glanced up from his laptop, unimpressed. “What do you want?” Johnson pushed the door open without waiting for permission. “I’m bored. If I knew your city was this dry, I wouldn’t have come.” Damon didn’t look up. “It’s not too late to leave.”
