I mutter underneath my breath. Ronan laughs softly behind me, still in his white tank top and black sweats. Malachi is shirtless in white shorts. I am surrounded by three sex gods who are my brother’s best friends. It can’t get more scandalous than this. “What’re you reading?” I ask Jaxon. Without looking up, he lowers his glasses and peeks over them. “A book.” I roll my eyes. “Yes, a book on what?” He closes it and sets it down on the glass table beside him.

Chapter. 48. ****** Pulling back, Louis's arms slipped around him, and his chin rested on Danny's head. "Lou!" Danny squeaked when he pushed him onto the ground and growled. With large hands, he ripped Danny's shirt from his torso, and the piece of material fluttered uselessly to the ground. "No more, Danny..." he hissed. "You keep staring and thinking all those thoughts. Did you forget I could read and feel every breath you take? One more, and I might just fuck you right here for all to see."

If I want it to be. Looking at him, freshly showered, dressed in preppy clothes with that boyish grin on his face…takes me back to that very first night. When I saw him from across the room. Why in the world was sweet Daisy reading this nonsense? And worse… why did the thought turn him on? Jaxon dropped into the seat beside her and noticed how she tensed slightly. “You read this stuff?” he asked, managing to keep a straight face, though it was hard.

Do you understand him?” I shift to get more comfortable and to be able to see Danny with both eyes. He is a prankster and does not discriminate. The wild look in his eyes tells me he is up to something and I probably won’t enjoy being a part of it.

He stretched his arms and the store manager came back with a box and they exited the store. “I’ll see you tomorrow at church, okay?” Danny said, and they parted their ways. While Danny left the place in his car, Christian walked a few miles and entered a café and, while waiting for the potential client, his eyes fell on the bookshelf. “The Antagonist Of My Life by Scarlett,” Christian read and abruptly stood up to take it from the shelf.

Danny added, prompting a loud snort from the subject of the conversation. “Hey, I can still hear your whispers,” Jaxon growled, but he never looked at his friends gathered around him because he was too busy flipping through the book’s pages in his hand. Danny simply shrugged and returned to the game after hearing this. Meanwhile, Jaxon’s grip on the book he was reading tightened, causing the cover to wrinkle. Jaxon let go immediately after realizing what he had just done. He took a deep breath and massaged his temples, suddenly feeling tired. Jaxon walked out of the room without saying anything.

I laugh at the idea of him sitting in here reading a manga. I turn away from the shelf and run right into Jordyn. I grab my chest as my breathing accelerates, "you startled me." Jordyn laughs, "I'm sorry for scaring you. Planning to read any books?" I think on that for a moment. "Maybe," I say. I loved reading. It was one of the many escapes from my harsh reality. He surprises me by echoing my thoughts. "I used to read a lot when I was a child. It helped me escape the burden of youth. Now I read to relax and unwind. It helps distract me from my work. That and..." he trails off as he runs his fingertips inside my thigh.
