He always stays in the shadow, fucker says he doesn’t like the limelight but he was the actual shit amongst all of us. He was the mind of our pack. Danny heard a series of explosions from the hotel lobby. His eyelids fluttered. He frowned anxiously. Soon, there was dead silence upstairs. Danny hesitated for a long time before finally making up his mind. He slowly walked upstairs. By the time he reached the thirteenth floor, he was out of breath. However, he stopped breathing altogether when he saw the scene in the corridor. The corpses on the ground were all bleeding profusely, and they included the Shadow Guards' corpses.

Claire P.O.V Danny has been the Beta and Ethan Randall's right-hand man for nearly two decades. It's quite the perk for Danny; besides being the Beta, he knows the ins and outs of the money-printing business owned by the Alpha, the ruler of The Silver Fire Pack. Danny didn't answer my question immediately. He just stared at me with his light brown eyes—warm and bright colours, especially in the summer. Mostly about our origin and conquests. The other parts were filled with sci-fi, fantasy books, comics and thrillers. I never knew Damon to be an avid reader. I guessed I judged the book by its cover. A particular book caught my eyes. It was at the end of the shelf. I knelt and pulled it out. It was heavy. I turned the book over to read the title.
