The big black horses barely made any sound, there was no conversation among the big guards who had large scary tattoos around them. Leading the guards, were four people on black horses; Demenicus Darke, the alpha of the skull pack, Simion and Euvene Darke, the alpha first twin sons, and lastly Reven. F. Darke, the bastard last son of the alpha, who was known by other packs as the Deathkeeper, because of his brutality and savagery.

I have heard that this is not a Gamma you want as an enemy. Lastly, Tenebris the Delta, sitting with his back to the door. Long, black hair, piercings in his eyebrows as well as his ears and lips. Basically a walking fucking Goth werewolf, but I wouldn’t fuck with him either way. Apparently, his claws contain poison dangerous to his own kind due to something in his blood. “Kai,” Ryker says when he spots us and walks over. “Thank you for having me.” “Thank you for coming,” my brother responds and shakes his hand. I watch as everyone stops what they’re doing when Kai calls for their attention.

“Luc, really, I’m—” “Here’s the deal,” Deke said to her, as if Luc hadn’t growled at him, as if she hadn’t spoken. “We work well together because Luc has patience and likes to get a woman all hot. I strike fast, make sure she gets off a few times. Somewhere in the middle of it all, Luc moves in.” Deke slanted another ugly stare at Luc. “Shut up, cousin.” “When his dark side takes over, he’ll fuck a woman for a good three hours. More, if he’s on a real tear. Never say die. Isn’t that your motto?” The bitter words hung in the air.

He's had enough pains to last a lifetime. Arthur shuddered at the thought of Ursula being the one to heal his wounds. Stacie might have abandoned him but the times he'd spent with her were worth it. Ursula was a walking disaster. Or maybe all females were walking disasters, seeking the unlucky guy to destroy. In Stacie's case, he was the unlucky guy. And she'd dealt badly with him.

He especially hated anyone that possessed magic, which after hearing Savannah’s story made sense. “Savannah did Angus ever reject your mother?” I asked. “No, but when my mother found out that he had taken a chosen mate, even if it was against the poor womans will she was able to reject him since he betrayed their fated bond. Dark elves, unlike the light elves, cannot reject their mate. They can accept a rejection but that is it, however if the bond is betrayed by their mate, then since it is already partially broken, they can be the one to reject their mate. Angus knew my mother was not able to reject him, but he had no idea that she could if he betrayed their bond.” Savannah explained.

Another room seemed to be a training ground, the air heavy with the scent of sweat and iron. Every step I took, every corner I turned, was a step further into the unknown. It was terrifying, yet each discovery, each piece of information I gathered, was a piece of the puzzle, a step closer to understanding what I had become a part of. And ultimately what I was up against. One thing was for sure, I was no longer the innocent girl who had been thrust into this world of darkness. I was Elara, a woman who had tasted dark magic, who had used her body as a weapon, and who was ready to face whatever lay ahead.

Her claws found his flesh again and again, each wound burning against his corrupted skin. For a moment, she had him. For a moment, she was winning. But Kade was not a mere warlock. He was darkness incarnate. With a vicious snarl, he unleashed his full strength, sending Astralis flying across the battlefield. She crashed into the earth, dust rising in thick clouds. Before she could rise, Kade was upon her, his fists striking, his power slamming into her with relentless force. He was ruthless. He was merciless. Until— A final, fatal mistake.
