She stuttered, “Off… off the lights.” Laurence's fingertip stayed on her forehead for a long time as he looked at her knitted brows. “Aren't you afraid of the dark?” Zoey didn't want him to see her face when she was turned on. It was something she couldn't control. They were like the most intimate lovers in bed. She said a little breathily, “Switch it on again after we finish.” Laurence kissed her ear. It seemed like he liked her ear very much these days. He grunted hoarsely and switched off the light. Other than the faint light shining in through the curtains, the room was nearly pitch black.

As I lay in bed, the moonlight streaming through the large windows, I would imagine Arben beside me, holding me close. April said sadly and got her phone and called Lucifer after taking a deep breath to regain her posture to not sound sad or anything, "Hello." His deep cold voice came. "Hey..." April said, swallowing hard. "I have done what you told me to do. I have blackmailed Erich now it's your turn." She said in her monotonous seductive voice. "Good. Let’s start over.” Madeline coughed. “Such a self-righteous, spoiled woman. I really thought you cared for him deeply.”

"I thought... I thought we were done with this, Damien. You promised." I walked over to her, my hands still smelling of gun oil cupped her face. I hated the look of fear in her eyes. I hated that I was the one who had to bring the darkness back into her light. "I promised to keep you safe," I said, as I dropped my forehead to hers. "And staying here is a death sentence. I’m sorry, Sera. I’m so sorry that the world won't let us go. but I am going to end him this time. No prison. No trial. I’m going to put him in the dirt so he can never breathe your name again."

But then he laughs, a cute sound that makes my stomach flip. "Just kidding, babe," he says, setting the flowers down and pulling a small black box out of his pocket. "I know you hate pink. These are for show." Oh, he knows. Good thing he didn't lose an eye before confession. He opened the box, and inside, nestled on black satin, was the most stunning black necklace I had ever seen. The pendant was so dark it looked like velvet, a single, vibrant ruby at its center. "Happy Anniversary, my love," he smiled wide. "I wanted to give you a piece of my darkness, a part of my soul that only you can see."

A heavy hand came down on her shoulder drawing a stifled scream from her. Her eyes flew up into the face of a man she'd never met before but knew to her bones belonged to Vincent Corey. His eyes pierced her in the darkness and then fell to Lola who was still sleeping but beginning to murmur restlessly against Jenna's breast. He lifted a finger to his rugged face in a gesture that she should be quiet. Then he shifted his hand to circle her upper arm and push her back into the house.

He shrugged, turning his attention to his phone as he started scrolling, “some things are better left in the dark, Skylar. Now go get dressed.” Left in the dark? What’s that supposed to mean? I dropped the subject for now and went to take a shower, then got dressed. What’s up with boys and keeping secrets about each other? First, Xander refusing to tell me how he knew Dean is the noble blood. Dimitri didn’t utter a word about his father’s disappearance and Xander’s role in it. Dominic didn’t want to say how he and Xander met, even though it’s a simple question.

“I mean, I know that you are seeing that banker and I also know that you both have been going out for a while” Mae’s heart dropped immediately those words came out of his mouth and she paled. “How.. wh…what do you mean?” She stuttered. Damian gave her a gentle smile. “I am not telling Alexander anything, if that is what you are worried about. I don’t tell him about most things you do, he appointed me to be your shadow. Most times I come into town without anyone knowing, I see you and your boyfriend by the docks. I am happy for you really”.
