Violet POV I had never been this flustered and frightened in the last five years, ever since I escaped the White Fur pack’s Alpha. Seeing Dane brought back every memory that haunted me over the years. His sharp green eyes, his midnight blue hair… His had tousled hair and bags beneath his eyes, but that didn’t do a thing to minimize his Alpha aura. Even now, he looked like a God, commanding and sucking up all the air of the room, his tall and muscular presence looming over everyone else.

Her heart beat fast with anxiety, fear, and sadness gripped her firmly bringing tears to her eyes. "He will die without his armies," Violet said in a panic in her mind. She thought hard about how to kill Darius. She suddenly found a way when she saw the violets blooming on the ground in front of her. She clenched her fists with anger in her eyes. "Darius! I won't let you kill him. I'll send you to hell," she said in her mind. ********

His voice got low, throaty, but then he said, “Tell me your favorite color.” She blinked. “Really? You didn’t assume it’s purple?” “I’m not that predictable, and neither are you.” “You’re right. It’s green. Now, what’s your favorite color? Gray like ash?” They talked into the night, even when the woman from earlier came by to say something to Ash. Looking more closely at her, Violet realized that she must be one of his siblings. They both had the same eyes and hair color, and when the woman smiled, Violet saw Ash in that smile. It was almost eerie.

But, if Carson wants me to try, then I would, for him and him alone. Anthony starts to speak and I am drawn in by his deep voice, “I, Anthony Davis, take you, Violet Harris, to be my wedded wife. With all my heart, I promise to cherish and respect you, to stand by you in times of joy and sorrow, and in sickness and in health. Perhaps it was because I’d seen Hael make the same expression, a smile that wasn’t a smile at all, rather just another way to contort the face to mask their true intentions. “Violet, it’s wonderful to finally meet you. I’m not usually this negligent with new additions to our pack, but I’m afraid I’ve been swamped in an abnormal amount of work.” He said warmly, extending a hand in my direction. I approached, my knee’s skimming the edge of the desk. A single ring sat on Alpha Xavier’s finger, one with a thick silver band and a large emerald jewel. My stomach fluttered with the full brunt of my nerves, adrenaline seeping into my bloodstream.

"There's no need. I'm not fortunate enough to accept your love. "We're not right for each other. You should find someone who's a better match for you." Without another word, she hurried away as though escaping from him. Joshua, already unsteady from the alcohol, pursued her without a second thought. He watched her cross the street and rushed after her without even looking. At that exact moment, a speeding van came barreling toward him out of control. A deafening crash split the night. Joshua was thrown to the ground, his body landing in a spreading pool of blood.

The color was not flat, but seemed to shimmer and deepen, reminding me of the night sky. "Your mark is healed." I smiled softly, taking in the full image of Asher. His large build leaned against the tub, the water lapping at the muscles on his stomach, the cobalt mark standing out against his creamy skin. Strands of his hair had gotten wet, and clung to his forehead. He looked like a fallen angel, carrying the weight of this pack on his shoulders, somehow managing to withstand it all. 'It's the exact opposite of Tristan's.' Maya pointed out. She was right, where Tristan's was the color of fresh blood, Asher's was the color of the midnight sky, set with hues of black and indigo. I said. "Then what do we do? Do you have any better suggestions?" Violet asked. "No I don't, let's just wait and see," I said, feeling disheartened but didn't allow it to show. After being silent for what felt like an hour Violet finally said something. "Xavier!" Violet said and clicked her fingers. "Xavier?" I asked, confusion written on my face. "Your ex boyfriend Xavier," Violet said. what was she trying to say? The thought of Xavier brought pains to my heart. "Xavier has a fucking VIP card," Violet asked.

The legend of the mysterious racer was growing, and I loved every second of it. "Well, well, well," a familiar voice called out. "If it isn't our favorite speed demon." I turned to see Violet approaching, her own racing suit a stunning combination of purple and silver. Behind her came the rest of our usual crew—Axel, whose massive frame looked ridiculous squeezed into his bright yellow racing suit; Luna, the only other woman brave enough to compete in this testosterone-fueled world; and Dash, whose nickname was earned by his complete inability to drive anything slower than terrifying.
