It wasn't a view of the city. It was a view of the room they were currently standing in.
"Pim," Chalida said, her voice dropping to a low, breathless warning. "Look at the time stamp on that feed."
Pim stared at the screen. The video showed them—Pim and Chalida—standing exactly where they were, but the clock in the corner of the frame was reading ten seconds into the future.
"It's not just predicting our movements," Pim gasped, a cold sweat breaking out across her forehead. "It's simulating them. It's already calculated that I’m going to make a mistake."
