“It’s your father,” she says bitterly. “Tell him what a pathetic human being he raised.”
I catch the phone, grin, and answer.
“What the hell did you do, boy?” my father shouts before I can speak.
“Hey, Dad,” I say lightly. “You must have heard the news. I found Alessandro’s daughter, Sareena. The wedding is back on, and I’m ready to come home.”
