The Family Secret

The Family Secret

When we arrived outside the house, the divorce attorney was already there with drafted divorce papers. With the front door open, we crowded into the small house. While Keith was shocked, Whitney, who was cradling the baby, was startled by the commotion. “What are you doing, Naomi? What’s the meaning of this?” As always, Whitney grilled me. Judging by the look on her face, she had no idea that I knew the family’s dirty little secret. “What’s this, babe?” Keith’s quiet charm made me sick to my stomach. At least, we would have nothing to do with each other after today. I closed my eyes.

A Secret Baby For The Alpha Quarterback

“There’s one traitor in this room today, and that traitor is not Amelia.” The mumbling rises even further among the elders. I push back, rounding the table in slow strides. “Elder Simion, why did you keep your second daughter a secret from the pack?” “What?” the other elders ask in unison, their heads turning to Simion. “He has another daughter?” Simion snarls at me. “Don’t taint my name just so you can save this—”

The Alpha's Secret Daughter

The Alpha's Secret Daughter

We both turned back to my Dad who nodded and continued. "When I found the lake, I immediately showed my Dad, who at the time was the Alpha. I was just barely coming of the age to take over the pack and I hadn't found your mother yet. Anyways, that's when my Dad finally shared the secret with me. Now it will be your secret. The Silver Throne Queen made an agreement with my father after he had discovered the lake. The barrier, or allusion can sometimes be fickle. When the Silver Throne had to relocate, they couldn't take the lake of course, so they disguised it as you now know." This information has my head spinning and again, more questions arise. Leon raises his hand, as if he were a student

Daddy's Secret: A Collection of Forbidden Stories

Daddy's Secret: A Collection of Forbidden Stories

Liora Vale had always loved the quiet. At twenty-one, she worked the night shift at the old city library. Most people thought the job was boring, but Liora loved being alone with the books after midnight. The tall shelves felt like old friends. One rainy night, while sorting the rare books section, she found a strange leather book hidden behind others. It had no title. When she opened it, the pages glowed softly. Words appeared. Choose a story. Bring him to life. One night only.

The Other Daughter

The Other Daughter

Even the blood still running down my forehead seemed to turn cold. So in her eyes, her eldest daughter was just an unsightly embarrassment, something that couldn’t compare to Suri in the slightest. I struggled to my feet and started toward the door. I didn’t want to stay here for even one more second. I didn’t want to watch Mom and her precious Suri clinging to each other while I stood there like a stranger. However, before I could reach the door, Mom blocked my path. Frowning, she rummaged through a box, pulled out gauze and antiseptic, and shoved them into my hands.

His Son, Her Secret

His Son, Her Secret

“My father left everything to me. The inheritance. The company. The shares. The properties. All of it.” I rested my head on his shoulder. “Not Ben. Me.” He still didn’t say anything, just gently ran his fingers along my arm. “And he said… it was decided when I was a teenager. But no one ever told me. Not my dad. Not my mom. No one.” I let out a short, dry laugh. “Isn’t that funny? The daughter they kicked out for being a disgrace is now the heir to everything. Like they suddenly realized I mattered… after I had a child with a Romanov.”

His Secret Princess

My heart stopped. “Watch where you’re going,” the all-too-familiar voice of Sabrina sneered. Before I could react, she had grabbed my jacket, pulling me close, her eyes narrowing. “There's no need to hide it,” she whispered, her voice dripping with malicious glee. “I know all about your little secret.” Panic gripped me. “Please, Sabrina,” I begged, my voice trembling. “You can’t tell anyone.” A cruel smile spread across her face. “Oh, I won’t. But it’ll cost you. From now on, you’re my little servant. My errand girl. Do as I say, and maybe, just maybe, I won’t spill your precious secret.”

I thought the first book was amazing, but I was oh so wrong. This sequel to the first book is simply incredible. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting not so patiently (lol) for the next chapters to follow. I can't wait for Matt and Celeste to finally get together ...️

does anybody know what's going on with this book. I love the book along with the 1st of the 2... this one and the hockey alpha. but this book by the same author is on another book app and it's the same thing with no updates in so long and stops at chapter 171. I really wish for updates.

Her Daughter's Choice

Her Daughter's Choice

“I’m sure the little human girl’s mother would want a woman present. My impression of Clementine wasn’t that she’d care about something like that. If she did Margo wouldn’t be the type of woman I’d trust to look at for my daughter around a man I didn’t know. I stayed in the living room ignoring Margo until she decided she would go into my room and sleep in my bed. I didn’t bother arguing with her, I slept in the living room instead. In the morning I checked on the girls and was relieved to see Aaliyah was perfectly fine and there were no incidents. My niece and her cousins were all still completely in their human forms so our secret was preserved. I wondered for a second if Clementine would

Her Secret, the Billionaire's Heir

Why aren’t they sleeping? I smile and turn my attention back to my parents. “Oh, I forgot to tell you I found Katie, and she has been keeping another little secret.” Katie wiggles beside me and mumbles, “Our precious little secret, Cass.” I lean over and kiss the top of her head out of the view of the phone. My parents may not be able to handle all of this, but they already know exactly how I feel about her, and they support me.

I always found 'The Secret Daughter' to be a story driven more by its central relationships than by a huge cast. Shilpi Somaya Gowda focuses heavily on two mothers and the daughter connecting them. Kavita, the biological mother in a rural Indian village, makes a heartbreaking choice that haunts her. Somer, the American doctor who adopts the child, struggles with infertility and the complexities of raising a girl from a different culture. And then there's Asha/Uma herself—named Asha by her birth parents and Uma by her adoptive ones—whose journey to understand her identity forms the book's core. The husbands, Jasu and Krishnan, are important but feel more like supporting pillars to the main trio's emotional arcs. It's really their story.

What got me, though, was how Kavita’s sections stayed with me longest. The sheer desperation and love in her early chapters, contrasted with Somer’s sometimes frustrating but very real insecurities, created such a compelling tension. Asha’s teenage rebellion and subsequent search felt authentic, even if some plot turns were a bit neat. I finished it wondering more about Kavita’s life after than anyone else’s.
