The garrison commander, who’d been standing beside him all that time, frowned and asked, “What are your orders, Your Majesty?”
“We’ll stick to our original plan, Glein.”
“But...” the man knit his brows even more, clasping his chainmail glove. “Twenty thousand soldiers, including mages! And we have only a dragon and a garrison of five-hundred-people! I’m not going to lead my people to defeat!”
“Calm down, Sir Glein,” the necromancer said softly. He looked straight and hard at Glein.
The man at once gathered himself together, sighed, then capitulated. First, he turned pale, as if from fear, but then his face flushed with red spots, as if he was struck with shame or angry with himself.
