I gestured to each as I said their names. “They are here for summer, though Persephone’s stay has become permanent since she’s your new Delta female,” I explained. “Persephone, Delilah, meet Mikali Hamilton and his mate Annai. Selene sank back onto the sofa, trying to relax, though her mind raced. Beta Darian strolled quickly across the corridor, he stopped at the waiting hall. A raven waited in a cage. Darian pulled out a short strip of red cloth from his pocket and tied it to the bird’s leg. Then he slipped a folded scrap of paper beneath it. The code was simple, a wordless knot.
