When I got home, I ran over to an old, Victorian cabinet that was passed down through the generations in my family. It was cherry oak and curved out in the middle; the Victorian designs were chipped but didn’t deny that it was a formidable antique. What is Pete actually planning to do to me at that ceremony? I move to the small bookshelf in my room, searching for anything about demons or dark magic. Most of the books are romance novels and etiquette guides, useless for my purposes. But tucked at the back, I find a thin volume on supernatural creatures. I flip through pages frantically until I find a short section on demons. The text is brief, clearly sanitized for general reading, but it gives me fragments of information. "Demons are entities from the Lower Realms, capable of manifesting in the physical world only through complex rituals. Why only this one?" Turning every page of the book, Amethyst investigated, narrowing her eyes at Douglass who never said anything else. Amethyst swiftly stopped turning the pages and stopped on one page that had her name written boldly at the top. Her eyes widened with unspeakable fear that attracted the attention of both Liam and Douglass. "M-my b…blood is needed for the…rebirth of the demon…?" At least with vampires I had some movies to fall back on, but demons were a whole new ball game to me. Maybe today while we are on our picnic, I will just ask him and maybe he may tell me if I guessed it right. As I look through the books, I came to the conclusion that there wasn’t any specific books on demons and this was going to be hard to dig up information on them. Vampires, wolves, witches, and warlocks there were a ton of books at my fingertips and it made me wonder if that was because he was studying the behavior of those he hunted.

I just found where I'm going to spend the rest of my time while Keo is absent. I spend at least half an hour inspecting as many books as possible before one piques my interest. I take my time scanning the small text, learning about the war, about Angel's depiction of Demon's. It's rough, hearing how they detail the mass death's, and how they justify it.
