For example…” She clasped her hands together to form a seal and incantated, “Dragon God Edict, Wind God Law, Nine Dragons Ghost Binding Curse, set!” Freya slapped the seal in her hand forward, hitting a Grovel Demon that was rushing towards them with a stream of yellow light.

Freya I bit my tongue to stop myself from apologising, to stop myself from thanking him yet again. All that would do is give him mixed signals, and as much as I wished things could be different, i knew my place in the world and it wasn’t here playing princess to a delta. “Jackson, our head warrior, would like to speak to you if you feel up to it. All she could do was stare in horror at her demon mother. "Yes, Madeleine. Lucky for me you were too naive and your father too stupid to realise there was a demon around you." Aosoth said to her daughter, her eyes like twin pools of obsidian. Then she turned to Aragon "You carried out my plan to the latter, and for that, I must thank you, Aragon. Now, seize her."

He wondered why there were no tears in his eyes. Freya slowly stood up. She removed the white cloth wrapped around the corpse. Her eyes widened at what she saw. Her hands covered her mouth and she suddenly sat on the floor. Her knees finally gave out. Tears slowly fell from Freya’s eyes. She shook her head several times. “No! He’s not Yael! Tell me she’s not my son! Fuck! Who did that to him? I can kill whoever did that to my son! He’s a demon! HE’S A MONSTER!” Freya shouted. She bound herself.

“And it clearly wasn’t going to be anyone in that palace.” Before I could figure out what to say to that, a knock came at the door, sharp and formal, nothing like the easy rhythm Damien used. He stood, jaw tightening again, and opened it to find a palace courier standing stiffly in the hallway, a sealed envelope held out in front of him like it might bite. “For Lady Freya Ashford,” the courier said. “By order of Alpha Ashford.” Damien took it and shut the door before the man could say anything else. He turned the envelope over once in his hands, and something in his expression shifted from anger to something more like dread.

The mage was positively wide-eyed when he spoke, “Do you mean to say that -” “That’s right... Prince Langrion might be the prophesized Demon King, so I cannot allow any killings to take place. I wouldn’t allow him to succumb to the Ancient One and become the Demon King in the first place...” Several hours after Shia’s long discourse with the mage, she was, more than ever, determined to set in action the series of steps she needed to fulfil her plan. “First,” she told the mage earlier. “You must tell me more about Freya. Even if you do say we are presently occupying the same body, I don’t really feel her within me.”

Andras sneered, grinning happily. Andras looked at Edmund with a superior look full of contempt. “A very weak dragon. Right, I was the one who summoned The Grim Reapers," Andras said, grinning widely. "What are you?" asked Edmund again breathlessly. "Andras. I'm a pure-blood demon. I am a marquess, and I lead 30 legions of demon soldiers. If a legion consists of 6000 demons, can you count how many demon soldiers I have? The Grim Reapers I summoned are only a small part of the demon army that I have, not including the low-class demon beasts," Andras said, boasting of the strength and power he possessed.
