So even if I'm not throwing fist, I still understood how Dreyden was feeling. I watched three more rounds pass before I let myself say anything. He was surrounded by several other demons who bowed down before him in reverence as he lifted his hands and spoke words that sounded like ancient incantations. Olivia gasped, taken aback by the sight of him. He was even more terrifying than he had been in her dreams. His body was covered in black scales that gleamed in the light and he had four giant horns protruding from his forehead. His eyes were a brilliant shade of red and seemed to glow with an inner fire. He looked larger than life, like a god or demon standing between two worlds. "Olivia," Azazel said, his deep voice echoing throughout the room. "Welcome to my domain."

There was no reason for her to shed tears, if anything, she was supposed to be happy. In surrender, she nodded and muttered for him to go ahead. He pulled his hands from his pockets and touched the book gently. A burning red colour emanated from his skin, and the emblem in front of the book burned with the same red. Once the colour burned out, he pulled his arm away from the book. But it looked as though the book had managed to drain the colour out of his face as well. Her keen eyes remained on his face, eager and itching ears anticipated the result and good news; that she was finally a free girl!

“I just can’t. You wouldn’t understand. I have to do what the summoner intended. I need to stay.” “Why are you so desperate to stay?” I shot back, taking a wary step backward. He looked up, catching the fear in my eyes. His lips twitched into a half-smile. “Because it’s not every day you get out of hell. You’d want to stay too. Think of it as… vacation time.” Something flickered across his face, something softer, sadder but it vanished before I could place it. I studied him warily: this tall, black, undeniably hot demon standing in my living room like he owned it. The afternoon light caught the sharp lines of his jaw, glinting off his caramel skin. His brown eyes locked on mine, unreadable.

Zayla watched him with bated breath, barely daring to move. Suddenly, Asher’s hand shot into the water with blinding speed, a splash so precise it barely fractured the surface. A split second later, he lifted his hand out of the water. Swirling between his fingers was a brilliantly colored, shimmering rainbow fish, thrashing wildly to break free. "No way," Zayla gasped, her eyes going wide as she jumped up from her crouched position. "You actually did it!" Asher stepped out of the water, holding the fish closer so she could get a better look at its glowing scales. "Never doubt a demon's reflexes," he said, a genuine, rare amusement breaking through his voice.
