“They don’t die so fast.”
“Sir, you shouldn’t talk to a patient like that,” the woman next to me said. I wanted to tell her to stop, to stay quiet, to not anger him.
“Who are you,” Damon said slowly, his eyes turning cold as he looked at her, “to tell me what I should say in my own house?”
“I’m her nurse,” she responded, but her voice was shaking now. “She’s my patient.”
He stood up and walked over to us. The nurse gasped as he grabbed her face roughly, his fingers digging into her cheeks.
