Prince Ismir “How did he come through the barrier?” Father snarls, finally thrown off his feet by the unexpected happening. “I don’t know.” The Whisperer says, my first time hearing him utter those words. “It should be impossible.” Apparently not, if he’s right there. “What do you know about him?” I ask. There is something about him that has my hair standing on end. It is simply my most primitive instincts recognising a threat, a major one. “Nothing,” The Whisperer says. “But judging by his power and the fact that he entered the barrier unscathed, there are only a few people that come to mind. I believe that is her mate, the one commonly known as the demon wolf.”

His true amber eyes were dim, shadowed with deep, crushing exhaustion, looking at me with immense sorrow. "Gideon" I cried, lunging forward across the cracked earth. Before I could reach him, a sudden, deafening roar tore through the sky. A towering wave of void fire erupted from the earth between us, solidifying into a massive, shadowy silhouette eight feet tall. The demon stood before me. It had no true face, only a swirling vortex of jagged, violet smoke and ancient, cold eyes that burned with anger. The air around it was so cold that the ash falling from the sky froze mid air into fine black needles.

The vault went black. A tear in the world yawned open above the ritual circle. Heat rushed in first; dry, hungry, sulfurous. Then a voice, low and mocking, like coal scraped against bone. "You summoned me. Now pay your debt, little firebird." The demon’s form coalesced from smoke and embers, eyes glowing like twin furnaces. Horns curled like obsidian crowns atop his brow. Muscles rippled beneath ash-coated skin as he stepped from the rift.

A moment later he returned, turning corporal once more and carrying her bags. "How did you do that?" He raised a brow, as if it were obvious. "I'm a spectral demon." "That is so cool. So you're like a ghost or something?" "Most humans who think they've seen a ghost are actually witnessing a spectral demon." Her curiosity racing she asked jokingly, "Can you go all Jedi and move things with your mind?" He cocked his head, as if he were about to give a lecture to a group of children. "Yes, when I go fully demonic I have telekinetic abilities. And I can't be harmed or killed. It makes my kind invaluable, especially on the battlefield."

I had to move fast. I turned through the pages of the spell book with shaky hands until I finally settled on what I was searching for. “Thrakos, Demon of the Underworld, Lord of Hell,” I whispered, my fingers tracing the forbidden verse. “He who commands the forbidden flames of the devil's domain,” my voice grew louder, desperation etched in my eyes, "I call thee, Thrakos. I summon thee to the mortal realm. Kneel before–” The sound of thunder cracking cut me short before I could complete my words. The ground began to rumble and the circle I had engraved on the ground expanded outwards as dark smoke clouded the entire place.

Thane stood by my side, his breath hitched. "Discede ab ea, creatura noctis, filil diaboli," she repeated louder. The wind brought down some furniture this time, Thane stepped closer, his body positioning itself between me and the falling shards of glass. I suddenly felt like my breath had been zapped out of me. Just then I saw the figure—not it wasn't a figure—the demon took the shape of a black mist, a living, breathing, darkness. The room felt suddenly colder. "May the abyss absorb you," she whispered, trapping the creature in the empty vessel she brought along. "It is done."

He already told June all about it that June digested calmly. "And what do you think those creatures are?" June asked him. Raia took another book and put it on the table so June could see it. "Ghouls?" June read the titles. "I've been searching for the creatures that match the physiques and characteristics that I saw last time and all I've got is this..." Raia stated before he opened the book on Chapter 5. "In here, it is stated that ghouls are demon-like being or monstrous humanoids that consume human flesh. I don't really know if that's the real thing but I assumed that they are something like that," I said before looking at him.

She took a deep breath and began to speak. "Grace, I have to tell you something," Olivia started. "Something that I've been keeping from you for a while now. And I'm afraid it's not going to be easy to believe." Grace looked up at her friend, noticing the worry etched on her face. "What is it, Liv?" she asked, her voice soft and concerned. Olivia took another deep breath and plunged ahead. "I... I summoned a demon, Grace. His name is Azazel, and he appeared in my room a few days ago."
