My breath came in short, sharp gasps as I pressed my back against the wall, my limbs trembling uncontrollably. The demons stood at the door, their eyes filled with eerie stillness and coldness as their towering figures claimed the space of the room. Their claws were long and sharp, skin blacker than coal, limbs an unnatural amount, and sharp horns on their heads. I clenched my hands into fists, trying to keep them from shaking, but my body refused to listen. My entire being screamed at me to run, to get as far away from them as possible, but my back was already against the wall, there was nowhere to go.

Ash lounged beside me on the raised platform overlooking the space, his posture relaxed, one arm resting along the back of my chair as if this were the most natural arrangement in the world. Below us, the first demons stepped forward. They began with fire. Not simple flames passed between hands the way traveling entertainers might perform on the surface. These demons shaped fire like sculptors working molten glass. One of them flicked his wrist and a narrow ribbon of flame uncoiled upward through the air, twisting into a spiraling helix before splitting into two separate streams that wound around each other like living things. I swiped the message, and a poem scrolled onto the screen in a font that looked like dripping ink: "Where the marble meets the mud, a scholar's light shall turn to blood. A pact is inked in secret sighs, beneath the mask of 'Holy' eyes. One shall fall so One may rise, fed by the Saintess' golden lies. A demon waits within the breath, of the lion who's cheated by a death. Save the spark or join the pyre; the Author's ink is made of fire."

Long Chen asked, focusing with his eyes closed, hoping that his voice would reach his son. "We... are being attacked by demons! Demons... They are terrifying, with big hands and heads like bulls... My aunts call them demons of destruction!" replied the innocent voice stammeringly to Long Chen. "Demon of destruction? What kind of demon is that?" Long Chen asked the black dragon.

Ares’ voice, dripping with scorn, answered from the sky: “Oh, Selene. You amuse me. Why don’t you give me a show first?” Selene’s heart skipped a beat as the ground beneath their feet began to shudder and crack. With a deafening roar, the earth split open, and from the depths emerged a horde of demons, their eyes burning with a fiery hatred. The gods sprang into action, brandishing their weapons and standing shoulder to shoulder as they prepared for battle. “These demons won’t stop us!” Aphrodite shouted, her sword glinting in the red sky. “We’ll fight our way to the top!”

He looked at me in shock and I could see the fear in his eyes when he looked at my arm. "Demon." I heard him say before running away from my room. I just asked why he seems to be scared. Who is the demon? Me? What is a demon by the way? Then when I got dressed I went out of the room and went to the kitchen, I saw a knife fall to the floor so I took it but I immediately let it go and closed my eyes because I saw something in my mind again. I saw the face of my mom and the girl with the horns again, mom was holding a knife and stabbed that girl with the horns, the girl did not know because she was sleeping.

Her eyes widened as it took in the sight behind her, and her heart began thudding against her ribcage. Seven slimy creatures had surrounded the car on every angle, looking like the Octopid she'd killed with Ayesha mere hours ago. They were sightless, just like the one she'd killed, and yet she could see poison dripping from the tentacles they waved in the air. Demons.

But how? Demons are heterogeneous species. Apart from the general underlying aura that identifies them as demons and their aversion to the Mors flower, they do not have much else in common. One thing, however, is common to all demons- their high intelligence, open-mindedness, and an overall dearth of inherent naiveté. No demon is naïve- they might be ignorant, but not naïve. It does not take a single breath, and we have the mass of the group of Demons coming down upon us. The mere sight of them alone does send the horror of a thousand deaths to my core. But that is not the worst; they smell like dead dog. I look over at Azron, and he only but cocks his head, "What is it now, Damien?" "Nevermind," I wipe the thought from my mind as it can not even nearly be possible.
