All six Demons nod their heads in agreement, turning their bodies in preparation for entering the Church. Before we can fully turn around to head inside the Church, a portal opens up outside of the barrier. Out steps my Mother, her purple eyes locking onto mine the second she is fully through. From behind her walks out twenty or so witches, they spread out along the barrier, staying back about a hundred yards.

We were dismissed. As the door shut behind us, the demon purred. 《There’s something calling to me in that room. Mmm. Delicious.》 My brows drew together. “Do demons… eat?” 《Not the way you think. But I suppose we can find it later.》

"You're just another Debt Collector!" The manor began to dissolve into splinters. The red sun in the sky started to leak black ink. But as the boy shattered, a new door opened in the shadows behind the elk antler chair. It wasn't a door to the mountains, and it wasn't a door to the city. It was a heavy, industrial steel door with a small, brass plate that read: [MANAGEMENT NO TRESPASSING] A man walked out. He wasn't a child, and he wasn't a demon. He was wearing a janitor’s uniform and carrying a mop bucket filled with stars.

Chase pointed to a peculiar curved wooden door. Helena looked closely and saw a faint black shadow painted on it, with a seated female doll in the center. It looked somewhat eerie. "Why choose this one?" Helena was curious. After all, there were doors of all kinds here, leading to various illusions. Why did Chase pick this one first? "First reason—to be somewhat boastful, the Dark Inner Demon definitely considers me its greatest opponent, so it would naturally target people close to me," Chase said rather immodestly, but Helena thought about it and found it quite reasonable.

He shifted uncomfortably from foot to foot. “Nah, they can’t touch our stuff. Not unless they have a pretty firm foothold on somebody or if I help them materialize. You’re good.” “Okay. Bye, then,” he said and threw the door open with extra exuberance. It passed right through the demon, who grabbed half-heartedly for the knob. It shut itself with a click, and the demon stood on its toes to peer in through the window.

She was excited. Everyone was pretty sure we’d have a boost in morale with the announcement. I was a little nervous, especially with how I’d acted as Reggie. I hadn’t actually caused any issues, but telling the demons I wasn’t their queen when I actually was might cause them to push back a little. I would try to explain it to them if I needed to. Indie and I waited inside the double doors that led to the back deck. We were both in demon garb. It would make it easier during training once we were done with everything. Demons trained in full form.

We were currently standing in the alleyway at the back of the apartment complex, in front of the narrow, rusted door labelled "Backup Generator Room." "Why are you whispering? The whole place is deserted. No one's going to hear us." Nate asked me pointedly. I just gave him an annoyed look as I finally unlocked the door and stepped inside, Nate followed suit. The room was completely dark and the strong smell of gasoline dominated. I could just make out the outline of what I assumed was a large generator. "Okay, the guard said that it opened into the inside of the complex. There's got to be a door here somewhere which opens into the other side." I explained.

The important figures didn’t seem to agree but none was brave enough to voice their displeasure to a full-blooded demon. Berilla personally thought it would be better if the roles were reversed. If the door could only be opened with demon blood and could only close with a mixture of the blood of both these species, won’t the door be more or less sealed forever?
