The salt-wind off Pier 7 didn't cool the fire in Lina’s veins. It was a prickle at the base of her neck—the veteran journalist’s sixth sense. She wasn't alone. She stopped at a rusted kiosk, feigning interest in a sun-bleached headline. In the grime of the plexiglass reflection, she saw him. A scrawny shape in an oversized hoodie, lingering a beat too long behind a stack of crates. Leo. The dock rat was hunting.

The Mafia Lord And His Spy Lover (Book 1)

The Mafia Lord And His Spy Lover (Book 1)

“Gather every possible soldier you can and swarm every likely place a Mafia business can take place. I believe Elias is in New York. Find him.” I disconnected the call and rushed downstairs. Eros had returned to Manhattan and Orazio had left for Philadelphia an hour ago, but Dom had stayed behind, despite his Friday schedule of dropping his sister at his mother’s house in Boston. He knew I needed him to keep me strong—enough to punish Leona this time. And Bella. “Have you found Leona’s real name yet?” I asked, standing before the glass table while Dom remained seated on the recliner, busy on his phone.

Mafia Men: Nikolai's Inferno

Mafia Men: Nikolai's Inferno

I poured myself a glass of water and drank it in one go. Nikolai “The Devil” Costello, El Padrino. I shook my head, nope, not going to believe it unless I talk to him myself. I made my way out of the kitchen and went straight to the library. Since I had nothing to do, I settled on reading a book. I surveyed the huge library and finally found a book that seemed interesting enough to read. “Mafia and Mafiosi by Henner Hess” With a book in my hand, I walked back to Nikolai's seat to read but halted in my steps as I saw him already sitting on it.

This mafia series is wonderful. Once you read it you'll understand how beautiful this series is. The plot is not like any other story. I keep re-reading this series, especially this book. I never regretted finding this book. Every character is well written. Nikolai is absolutely one of my favorites.

27 chapters read, the book is really addicting, although I am not a fan of very young innocent female leads. My second book from this author, the first one was the one with the mayor's wife. I must say I liked that one more, it was something different, many books have similar storylines, this one too

MAFIA DIARIES

MAFIA DIARIES

I insisted in on the laptop that had come with it. I found a bunch of files about various people including Donald Dante, Lord and other names I only recognized because they were very important people. I realized Vincent had given me classified information about the cartels and some big companies of which was also the general. I felt a wave of relief as I opened the General’s file. I had been so worried about the case but now, I had the upper hand and knew exactly what to do to win the case. The only question that remained at the back of my mind was why Vincent Vincenzo had left me with this information.

The Billionaire's Detective

The Billionaire's Detective

ROSE I inhale deeply as the cold water crawls repeatedly across my skin. It's evening already. I spent the entire afternoon looking for clues. Fortunately enough for me, I met an old college friend of mine who's a detective in LA, and he promised to help me find out about Lavender and her supposedly dead kid. In fact, he also said he's been curious about the way the detectives all died. He had wanted to investigate, but the police boldly told him it's not his duty to; that even the families of the deceased aren't worried about it. Somehow, I couldn't help but think this person in question has connections with the police. I couldn't say it to him because it's against the law to accuse a fello

Lethal Business: The Mafia's love game

Lethal Business: The Mafia's love game

Why am I so bothered by her? We arrived at the casino. It was just as Enzo had said. The whole place was covered in blood. It was a good thing law enforcement was on our payroll, if not, this would have ended badly. “Have someone clean this up, and take care of that FBI thing--” “Williams is not picking up sir.” “What do you mean he's not picking up?” Williams was the police chief. He took care of covering up crimes so they were never reported. No matter how much investigation was done about me, it always ended with me being escorted out of the station a free man.

Mafia's Nemesis

Mafia's Nemesis

Nevena's gaze fell upon the waterfall, its beauty a harsh reminder of the life she longed to live. Consumed by the weight of her diagnosis, Aleksandar's break-up, and her family's abuse, she plunged into the deep water. Meanwhile that same night, In the Private Suite of Celestial Height Hotel Mexico, Room 665 was dimly lit up and loud moans were emanating from there. 'Fuck!, fuck !!,' Antonio "El Diablo" Hunt 'Blade Knuckles' the underboss of Medina crime family cursed. COUNTER MEASURES

COUNTER MEASURES

He obviously loved thrillers as most of the books were made up with novels by Ian Fleming, Desmond Bagley, Hammond Innes, Ian Rankin, Michael Robotham and Alistair MacLean. My mobile sounded and I moved out on to the landing. Caller ID: Kimberley. “Hello, darling,” I said into the phone. “I need a drink,” she explained. “Bad morning?” “Ever since that break-in you investigated, Bio-Preparations insist on having an audit every month,” she said breathlessly. “Why have they got to have it on a bloody Saturday?” “You poor thing,” I said soothingly, feeling partially responsible. “So how about the Waggoner’s Rest?” She persisted. “I’ve just arrived back at the quay.”

MAFIA ROMANCE MYSTERY

MAFIA ROMANCE MYSTERY

As Halloway always said “In order to be a good agent, you’ve got to be able to think like a crook and anyone that knew the Mafia families well enough also knew that they had to commit a crime to cover up an organized crime which most times would lead to a slip up. Although it was going to be really hard, Charlie knew that she just had to be a little patient because when that slip happened, she would be waiting to get it and hopefully unravel the deep dirty secrets of the mafia. Then New York would be a safer place and these dark times would be over. She looked up from the pile of paperwork on her desk which she was trying to get through ,yawning because she was beginning to feel a little sle

Frequently Asked Questions

atmospheric crime stories, Dennis Lehane is a master of the genre. His books often blend raw emotion with brutal realism, making them unforgettable. 'Mystic River' is a standout, a haunting tale of childhood trauma and adult vengeance that lingers long after the last page. The depth of the characters and the tragic inevitability of their fates is heartbreaking yet compelling.

Another must-read is 'Shutter Island', a psychological thriller that keeps you guessing until the shocking finale. The eerie setting and unreliable narration make it a page-turner. For those who love detective duos, the Kenzie-Gennaro series, starting with 'A Drink Before the War', offers sharp dialogue and complex cases. Lehane’s ability to weave social issues into his narratives, like in 'Gone, Baby, Gone', adds layers to his already gripping plots.
