“I’m sick of your accusations. First, you think I had something to do with Edwin’s disappearance. Then, you think I’m cheating on you. What’s next, Tristan? What else do you think I’m guilty of?”
He didn’t answer.
She let out a bitter laugh. “You know what’s funny? You’re the one who keeps pushing me away, but the second another man so much as looks at me, suddenly, I belong to you.”
His eyes darkened. “You do belong to me.”
Florence’s heart slammed against her ribs.
The words were quiet, but they carried a dangerous weight.
Her breath hitched. “You don’t get to say that.”
“Why not?”
She met his gaze, her voice shaking. “Because you don’t even know what you want, Tristan.”
