She stops moving immediately but that just means I caught her in the middle of something so I ask, "What are you doing, Destiny?" I watch Destiny’s shoulders tense but she still doesn't turn to me. My voice is filled with confusion as I continue, "Are you going somewhere?" Destiny turns and her eyes meet mine. The first thing that hits me is how her once warm storm grey eyes, eyes that used to warm up when she looked at me, just look guarded and weary right now. Her voice when she speaks is rigid and emotionless, "Coren, I need some space. Things have really been too much lately and I feel like some space will do me good. I'm going up to my mother's house for a few days."

The first spirit walked alone across the golden sand dunes, her bare feet sinking slightly into the warm earth. Each step stirred up grains of light, as if the very ground glowed in reverence to her presence. Her eyes swept across the vast horizon—her creation—proud and restless.
