I opened my eyes, the rusty ceiling and the faint smell of dirt on my room greeting me an early morning. I got up from my dirty mattress which is my bed and walked towards the tilted window allowing the sun to shine all over me. The early birds chirping outside greeting me on the starting of the day. "AMARA" my mom shouted warning me to wake up and get started with my work. I sighed. Already knowing that the day will be a hectic one.

“We sense our own kind. We knew the moment he was born. He belongs to us.” I don’t like hearing it, but a destiny is a destiny, and being the Alpha of his own kind is about as good as it’s going to get for a wolf like Deimos. “Who ordered you to take him?” “Alpha Owen. He claims Deimos as his heir.” “Owen is dead. Neil is Alpha now.” The she-wolf nods again but says nothing else. “I reject all claims from the current or future Alphas to my son. I will raise him to be a good, strong Alpha, and when the time comes he can claim his title.”

These memories were her anchor, her source of resilience. Lyra's life as a slave was a daily struggle, but she never gave up hope. She knew she was destined for something greater. *Abby* I smile pleasantly as I listen to one of the other alphas here at Young Alpha Conrad’s ascension ceremony. Quietly I swirl the red wine in my glass as they mention the number of rogues that they have caught and killed. It’s a good thing I listened to my dad and brother and brought more guards with me than normal. I glance at my brother who is talking and laughing with the new beta of this pack. Beta Kevin just ascended right after Alpha Conrad and Luna Daniele took their new positions. I hid a smile as my brother started to laugh at something Kevin said, it seemed like he was having fun. I sipped my glass as the group I was standing with started to make small talk again.

I looked past her and stared at the alpha and my ex-mate, who watched the scene with interest. “Well, well, well,” Alpha Rex said, stepping forward, his eyes holding an amusement that irked me to my bones. His hand landed on Maria’s shoulder, urging her to move aside, at which she did, a scowl on her face. “If it isn’t Destiny Levine, daughter of the people who committed treason against their own alpha.” His haughty eyes roamed my body just the same way they had on that night he captured me to sell. My glare intensified. “What the fuck are you doing here?”

“Did Siram seriously send us leftovers? I thought they already had things under control over there.” “Sir, the alpha heir only picked the best,” the officer said quickly, trying to smooth things over. “Allow me to introduce myself, sir.” I bowed respectfully, showing humility. “My name is Eliza, and I’m a three-star elite warrior under the Alpha. I’ve been leading a support unit since the beginning of the invasion. I know I look young, but I’m highly qualified.” “Alpha Arlo,” the officer added beside me, “I’ve seen what this girl can do with my own eyes. The unit she supported was the only one that didn’t suffer a single casualty.”

Alex told Elosie as he tried to pull her out of the trance she just entered. Elosie stood up quietly and followed him, she looked like a shell of herself, her eyes lifeless, her body pale. She could barely walk. “Get my jet ready, we are flying to moon crest pack!” Alex screamed his heart hurting for his mate. As soon as they got to moon crest pack the scene was bloody, with the alpha and luna dead, the rogues didn’t think to spare the people in the pack and started killing everyone. Alex and his men rushed towards the rogues and started fighting too. Elosie ran straight to her parent’s house, avoiding any rogue that tried coming for her.

Her face was full of lines, and she had a strange look. Damien was very interested, so he went up to the seer. “Excuse me, I'm Damien,” he said politely. “How can I help you, ma'am?” Damien tried to hide the growing interest in his heart as he asked. The prophet smiled and said, “I'm just taking a break.” Ah, the Alpha is looking for his honest Luna.” Damien was surprised and felt like he needed to talk more about it. Damien told the woman, “Please rest in my office across the street.”
