The Devil in a suit
I dare a glimpse through the gap, my heart pounding so loudly I'm afraid they'll hear it.
The room is large, lit by harsh fluorescent lights casting hard shadows. In the centre, a man on his knees, hands tied behind his back, face battered, blood streaming from his nose and mouth. He trembles, begs, eyes swollen with tears. Around him, three men in black suits, sleeves rolled up, tattoos visible on their forearms – stars, ravens, like Cameron's. Henchmen. Bodyguards. Torturers.
One of them, a bald giant with a scar on his cheek, laughs a cold laugh.
