CRY OR BETTER YET, BEG
A guttural cry ripped from my chest and I collapsed over his cold body.
“I’m so sorry, Daniel! I thought it would save you! You would have been alive if you’d never met me! What am I going to tell Emily? Why? WHY?!”
I twisted my head, vision blurred by tears, and looked at the devil in front of me.
“Why not kill me already, you devil?! WHY?!”
“This,” he said, voice dropping to a possessive whisper, “is so much more fun, don’t you think?”
“You want to see what’s fun? Take off this collar!” I barked.
