Angela’s POV “Ah!! Poor Hachiko..” I was crying when we left the cinema. I just can’t help myself from being a crybaby whenever I watch or see a dog getting hurt or dying. “That was just a movie. Stupid.” Lucifer said to me. I sniffed and wiped the tears in my eyes. “I know but that’s just too tragic for such a wonderful dog like him. He died waiting for his owner without knowing that he would never come back again.”

Kelly broke down there. Tabitha placed her hand over her mouth, hearing this news. It turned out that her husband didn’t abandon them but died as well. But how? “Daddy said he was in the doggies that Anderson owned? I don’t know, but he said that he was in the doggies.” Suzy said with a tear forming in her eye. “In the doggies? And Anderson? What does it mean?” Kelly mainly asked herself. Tabitha had an idea but didn’t want to bring it up at this time.

"Let go of me!” ‎”Where’s the dog?” I demanded . ‎”The courtyard!” she screamed. “It killed three people already. It’s a freaking zombie dog!” ‎She yanked free and kept running. ‎A zombie? That couldn’t be right. The dog wasn’t a zombie when I rescued it. It was weak, starving, but it was alive. Normal. It had eaten from my hand. It had rested its head on my lap and looked at me with those sad, doggy eyes.

"Perhaps am seventeen, old enough to look after myself." "He was worried about ya, complained you were acting unusual, ignoring his calls and all that." "Well if he's often around he wouldn't have to worry about that. Tell him am fine." "Aye young master," He said and turned walking away, but then stopped and steered again. "What's that smell? It's like something died in here," he inquired sniffling his nose round the air. "It's my dog, he died a day ago and I buried it at the back."

“We don’t know, Nestie, but it did take several days before the woman regained some color in her cheeks and was strong enough to move about.” “Around the same time, dogs were heard howling at night and the animals looked agitated. One night after another, animals were dying mysteriously. There were no signs of injury in the animals except for deep puncture wounds at their neck and they were all drained of blood,” Celie’s eyes widened and she revealed her teeth to Nestie. “Ooh! Scary!” said Nestie. “What about your grand aunt’s ghost though?”

He sighed before stopping himself typing in his laptop. “What happened yesterday? Who did that to my dog and how did it happen without us here! “ I demanded, slamming my palms in his desk. He gritted his teeth, watching me. I raised my brows in him, waiting for the answer. “Your dog was a victim of a hit and run.” He calmly said, playing with a pen in his hand.

It was as though the dog had been poisoned. I looked toward the lady but she was already running away. "Get her, Finn!! She poisoned the dog." I yelled. Without hesitation, Finn and other workers who had witnessed the entire drama went in pursuit of her. With her broom, the girl flew away. But I didn't see her with any broom before. The dog was slowly dying. Its breathing had become low and uneven. Its eyes were half open and some body parts moved. The dog was still struggling to live. I didn't know when tears started coming out of my eyes.

But, it was surely going to do that very soon. Ryan stepped close, knocked the dog on its head. And, like on those weird dogs in the cartoon, the dog stepped backwards, whined, its eyes moving unstably as if it was giddy. In only two seconds, it fell straight to the ground like it had fainted, or had even died. I stood up immediately, held Ryan's hand, breathing hard. "Is it dead? Oh, no. We shouldn't murder a dog. I think it's illegal." "I don't know." Ryan was gasping for air as well. We had run so much.

“It’s a wolf pup.” My heart squeezed as I stared down at the small dog. It couldn’t have been more than a few weeks old. “Is it…dead?” I choked on the last word. I never was one to handle death well, even if it was just an animal. Not since my mom died. Zak leaned his head forward to listen for breathing. “Barely.” He said, but his tone said there was no hope.

Edgar told me, getting to his feet. After he left, I quickly asked. “What does he owe you?” I asked Ellie curiously. “Edgar’s mom, Susan. Used to live in South View. She owned a dog kennel that could house up to thirty dogs. I often visited just to check that the animals were well cared for, as having that many animals in one place could be disastrous. I never had any concerns. One day I got a call from Susan. One of the dogs was sick. The next day, all the dogs at the kennel were sick, and two of them died.
