AVA'S POV; “Ava!!” I suddenly heard my name and ran down the stairs. I told Davis never to call my name like that for no good reason. “Why did you yell like that?!” I yelled back when I came down and saw Davis with a girl in a short brown skirt and a crop top. Another of his exploits. “It’s Dad. He wants to speak to you,” Davis said, passing me the phone. “Then why didn’t he just call my phone?”

Is she alive or dead if she was dead, am sure Davis replaced me to her. Davis picked up his phone and dialled his life secretary number Morgan, get me two tickets to the cinema before the weekends, Sir? Morgan exclaimed pretending not to Understand what his boss meant. Davis leaned at the door by the exit smoking while waiting for her, when he saw her coming out, he walked up to her. Gary and Tessy blocked him but Matilda ordered them to leave him. Davis nodded his head, closing the door after I climbed in. I watched him through the car window as he stepped back. His eyes never left me as I followed Chris' Ferrari back to his home. I watched Davis through my rearview mirror until I could no longer see him. My heart sank, missing him a million times over already. I barely know anything about Davis, aside from the fact he fights, has a daughter, and makes me feel safe and cared for. He's not like any guy I've ever been with.

He was happy to see Kassady smiling. “Oh my gosh Davis why did you dish the eggs like that with a smile emoji beside it” Kassady said as she stopped laughing and was just smiling.

Looking at my watch, there was still another forty-five minutes until we traded off in the kitchen. Liam opened the door five minutes later, hand-in-hand with a tall man. He had short blond hair and his eyes were an electric blue. He was very handsome, and I held out my hand. Smiling, he took my hand. “Alpha Desmond, it’s good to finally meet you.” “Dillard Young, it’s lovely to meet you as well. I told my son he should have brought you over sooner.” Liam cleared his throat. “Dad, come on.”

Davis's face became pale as he gazed at the data. The proof was there, even though he wanted to reject it. He was at a loss for words. He was limited to lowering his head and avoiding Darin's eyes entirely. Darin stared at him with dark eyes. "Why did you do it?" With a flash of terror in his eyes, Davis looked up but was unable to speak. Once more, he simply lowered his head. Davis's phone began to buzz in his pocket at that moment. After fumbling with it, he noticed Andrea's name on the screen.

“My God—Damon, it’s from Daven.” My chest tightened hard enough to hurt. “Open it,” I said, steady even as something cold crept through my veins. She tapped the screen. A video played. Daven. Standing inside her house. Alive. Unharmed. Looking… normal. Confused, maybe. But not terrified. He held the phone too close to his face, like someone had told him what to say and handed it to him seconds before pressing record. “Hi, Mom,” he said quietly. “I’m home.”
